I am studying Spanish in Salamanca , Spain this semester. I will be here until Decemeber 17 when I return to the states. I don´t have a large budget to work with but would like to take three short four day trips while I am here. The university I am studying at an attendence policy of where I can only miss 10% of the classes and still get credit. We also only have scheduled week days off. And now to my question. Can you suggest some travel advice for someone like me on a tight budget? Can you please suggest some cities that are the best bang for the buck? I was thinking London and Paris and maybe a German city. How do Hostals usually work? Any advice would be very well recieved! I will be traveling by myself.

I am looking at a flight with Ryan Air which arrives at Paris Beauvais I think this is not one of the major Paris airports? Can anyone confirm this, if you have arrived there how long does it take and how much does it cost to get to central paris.
Also can anyone recommend budget hotels/hostels in Paris.
Thanks

I was wondering how much money i can expect to spend on food a day? We will eat out for every meal, and probably get loads of beer, so how much will this be a day? I have a budget of 100 dollars a day.

For instance I know Fance has free health care, but the taxes are high...does France have high property tax, high sales tax, or both?
What about Germany, Great Britain, Austria, etc.
If you only know about one country that is fine.
Thank you

I am flying to Norway Friday 9/28 and have 15 nights holiday before I fly back to the US on Sunday 10/14. Since I have sort of planned this trip spur of the moment, I did not consider that Norway is so unbelievably expensive. I travel on a tight budget, usually staying in cheap hostels and these are not so cheap in Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger where I will be visiting. Food is also expensive. So I am thinking of cutting the trip short in Norway and make my way to Germany- will my dollar go further there?

My husband and I are taking a trip to the Czech Republic around Christmas time and are interested in purchasing a lead crystal chandelier. Which city, Pizen or Prague (or another suggestion), would be a better place to find a good quality, fair priced chandelier?

What is the safest way of getting some without being conned? How much should I be paying? Please do not reply with any drugs are bad comments. Or do not say don't bother in eastern Europe or any of that. I am big enough and ugly enough to decide wether buying skunk in Eastern Europe is a good idea or not!

Any suggestions to keep the cost of train fare down? We are both in our early fourties, one an American citizen, the other a German citizen. We want to leave the 2nd of October and return the 7th.

My best friend is planning on moving to Prague next year to teach, and is bringing her 16 month old daughter (who will be 2 by than). Where could she find a reasonable babysitter or nanny? Also, any other information you could give me on Prague that she should know would be so helpful!

Thank you! :)
