For instance I know Fance has free health care, but the taxes are high...does France have high property tax, high sales tax, or both?
What about Germany, Great Britain, Austria, etc.
If you only know about one country that is fine.
Thank you

Benefits of living in Europe: It tends to be safer, more interesting, people more social, but more expensive and hard to get to live there with visa and residency laws.

Benefits of USA: More diversity in the population (if you live in a city), convenience (24 hour stores and restaurants, for ex.), less expensive, and more wilderness (at least for now).

It's true taxes are high in Europe. In fact, I don't know how they can live and go out a lot with those prices, and they don't usually earn more than Americans. But as a visitor to Germany once, my crown fell out of my tooth, eating some candy. I went to my friend's dentist, thinking there goes my vacation fund, and the dentist glued my crown back on and charged me nothing!!!

On average the tax will be much higher.
Social security is much better, most of Europe if you get unemployed you get enough unemployment benefit to keep paying for your mortgage, insurance and so on (going down after a period to just enough to pay for daily needs.) But that is something you have to build up, a foreigner may live and work in an European country for years and still not benefit when loosing his/her job.

Most of Europe has a high sales tax, almost the same in all countries, (keeps people from crossing the border to buy things,) and a pretty high income tax. (Often higher percentage when you earn more.)

If you contemplate moving to Europe, read on the site of an embassy what you need to relocate, because mostly it is not easy, you need visa and permits that are hard to get.

first of all people in europe wear deodorant and from what i have seen they are more clean then americans. i am american and live in scandinavia. here they seem to care way more about how they look...
taxes are higher and living is higher but we get free health care, unemployment if u lose a job, and our minimum wage is 20 dollars an hour compared to american and we go out and live just fine and our means of living and quality is higher then most countries.
