I am off to a music convention in Feb 2007, and just wondered if anybody had been there before, maybe give me a review (good or bad) on the place..
Particularly interested to know if the heating/warmth of the place with keep out the cold that this place will suffer from in Feb..

Thanks

Michael

I'm going to Amsterdam at the end of the year, and I'd like to go skiing. Is there any skiing close by, or should I rail to Germany, France, or other? Can I take a bus/train to a ski mountain? Can I rent skis? I'm American :)

On maps of the netherlands in the north west there is what appears to be a bit of land than goes straight across the sea just below the west frisian islands...

What is this?
Is it just a patch of land or sand or is it some kind of road or bridge and is there anything interesting to see there?

When I'm given a list of countries for whatever reason on a website, Holland and/or The Netherlands is never there. It may be small, but that isn't a reason to overlook it.

I was there several years ago, and every day was grey. A fluke, or is it always like that?

I will be in Amsterdam in April and May on business and travel, but I've been thinking about moving to Europe on a more permanent basis, and I would like to know which areas in Amsterdam I could rent a really nice apartment in a safe area, and which areas to stay away from? I'm figuring around $2500/month for rent, can I get a nice apartment for this amount and in which areas would be the best?
Thank You
