Absolutely - wonderful country and some of the finest people in th3e world but the winters are totally gloomy.

I've spent a lot of time in Belgium and Holland and I can tell you most of the time the skies are grey. This is even true in summer. It seems to rain more often than not in the Low Countries. In Belgium it can rain for 10 to 14 days consecutively.

Unfortunately they can be very gloomy, not every winter is like that, but it's very nordic and thus cold, icey, windy and often gray.
Really the best time to visit is spring (April).

Yep - very gloomy and cold sometimes.
..............but when the weather is rubbish there are so many things to do and see that it doesn't matter so much.
Anyway, when it gets really hot in the summer (not often I know) the canals can be a bit smelly.

haha. yess. i lived there for 4 years and i hated the weather. it rarely is sunny, most of the time it has very gloomy, dark skies, deperessing weather. it can also get very cold and windy.
