Hi,
I'm flying, with a friend, to Greece for a week or a week and a half and have some questions:
1. Is it possible to fly directly to islands or you always land in Athens and then go to islands?
2. How do you transfer from one island to another?
3. Any islands that are recommended for people my age (I'm 33). (Some islands are known to be for teenagers, some for families. Neither is my scene).
4. What is a good itinerary for a week or a week and a half? Which islands? Is it recommended to combine Turkey on such a short trip?
5. Are there any floods in Greece or Turkey right now like in several cities in Europe?

Thanks.

-People are suffering from "act of god" like aridities, fires, floods, earthquakes etc.
-People are giving money from their savings to help them.
-But it said that only a slim portion is disposed to the victims...

Hi, everyone. I just received an e-mail from an irate friend who also happens to be Greek. She's short-tempered and has a tendency to go off in Greek when someone gets her angry. This was one of those times. Could anyone help me with this? Thanks so much in advance!

Much has been said about Greece or Spain with respect to the violent behavior of certain British youngsters visiting Greece or Spain. It is interesting that recently, hundreds from the town of Malia in Crete have taken to the streets to protest against the lewd and violent behavior of young British tourists, closing off the island's main highway, disrupting traffic and handing out leaflets saying they were fed up.

the Greek section saying it is being used for "tourist information"....perhaps I too have been guilty of this in asking about air fare to an island from Athens. Am sorry, did not understand that was not liked. But who better in a section to help ones than ones from that section though? I know most of traveling there after 8 trips, but was wondering about the fares but will find that out next year when am back in Athens.
Thank you though for the previous helps given.

I want a holiday in an unspoilt village with gorgeous scenery, some historical sites, good fresh rustic food, absolutely no lary vomiting tourists. We don't require nightclubs, just a selection of rustic bars and tradtional restaurants will do.

we are going to on a holiday to my home town in greece, which is at the sea. it is going to take us 12 hours, and me and my brother can't sit together for 30 minutes without having a fight or start screaming at each other. what could we do on the road to keep us entertained and stop fighting? we don't want to get really bored on the way too. our car is a volkswagen passat, so it isn't pretty big (2003 version of it).

what are things we could do together and/or as a family on the way to greece? i don't want to have a fight with him on the way, my mum tends to get verry stressed before and during the trip, so i don't want to get her mad and she'll feel very bad on the way.

Hi, I would like to learn more on the facial expressions, gestures and hand signs of the Greeks before I embark on my journey (Athens, Santorini, Mykonos & Ios Islands).

I do not want to make a wrong gesture or show a wrong facial expression while holidaying.

Is there anything I should learn before my trip?

Many thanks in advance :)
