the Greek section saying it is being used for "tourist information"....perhaps I too have been guilty of this in asking about air fare to an island from Athens. Am sorry, did not understand that was not liked. But who better in a section to help ones than ones from that section though? I know most of traveling there after 8 trips, but was wondering about the fares but will find that out next year when am back in Athens.
Thank you though for the previous helps given.

Rather complicated approach.
I ask questions about 'travel' in Greece, and I get answers; or I answer questions in the believe they can be of help to those using the Greek travel section. If we all try our best; what could be wrong?
If different opinions are building up.. that is called a forum.. the best answer/approach will come up in the end. With serious questions & answers, 'complaints' should not be part of this site/section.

dont worry, some ppl cant get sooooooooo testy in this section that they can completely mis-read the question. I live here and I asked a question about Greek hospitals (because I had never been sick here enough to warrant a hospital visit) and I got told to go back home!! But I also got many helpful answers. I like answering questions from tourists because I know they will get the truth and a helpful answer that they would never be able to get from any guide book! And I like promoting my adoptive country as much as possible because I am a proud new-Greek! :)

The site is indeed for tourist info. It is a subsection of Travel. And it is our pleasure here to help our country's visitors if we can, so that they can have a good time here and appreciate our culture as much as possible.

Alan D, as you can see, the questioner herself states that she loves Greece and keeps coming here, because obviously Greeks treat her nicely. So your effort to accuse Greeks of non-hospitality is vain, and everyone can see that your motives are not innocent.

This section is for travel info as you know, but the problems started when some users from neighbor countries, like FYROM and Albania decided to spotlight its self-asserting or to set up our supposed racism as for the financial immigrantes.
All of those made the Greek users -and not only them, to report the trolls due to protect the reason that, this section have been made. And believe me it is not easy and pleasant to do that. But it is only a defense....Allan I think you don't have any idea how is the attack...

There are people who complain but mainly in the Greek section you will find people ready to help in every possible way!
I've seen your posting and I don't think that anyone can accuse you for misusing the Greek section!
Unfortunately the problems in the Greek section has started with some
Slav-Macedonians (especially the known pseudo-Macedonians). Some trolls keep using the Greek section mainly to attack and insult Greeks! Check Alan-d. Simply check his questions and answers, and his constant attacks in every subject. (A demonstration of hatred and unhistorical propaganda!)

I agree with you. But some of Greeks made Greek travel section like own, and forget that Greece have many tourists from neighbor countries, they use this section attack people, even give self right send hate messages.I see this is not case for travel sections for others countries, and wonder why this happen ?!They in every answer insult Republic of Macedonia and ignore Real World History and that more of 50% counties accepted real name of Macedonia.
This is section for all people over the World who want to travel in Greece, and what they see here? Forum?!This is section for questions and answers about travel in Greece. People ask, Greeks can help, people who travel in Greece with own expiriens can help, this is not Greek section for few fanatic Greeks promote self and own Razisam, this is international section.

To the Skopian "answerer" above:
Our country can have tourism and tourist industry because it is a beautiful country, with splendid beaches, hotels, clubs, and in addition full of monuments well known all over the world.
Give us a reason why someone would be interested to visit yours.
You just try to attract attention stealing our history, the name of our Makedonia, and even Alexander, naming your provincial airport after him, in an attempt to see somebody misleaded enter your country.

why shouldn't it be used for tourist info?? Surely any question can be asked on this site as long as it is not abusive, racist etc.

Personally think your question about air fares is much more valid than someone asking "how old are you" or "what's the weather like with you today"?

lol, madness!!
