My family is looking into staying at the atlantis hotel...we have a 1 yr old we will be taking with us who is full of energy :-)

I was wondering what tower to stay in? What the differences are b/w the towers? Do you have acess to all amenities no matter what tower you stay in?

Hi there,

I'm a Canadian travelling to Holguin, Cuba for vacation at a resort this Friday. Some friends want me to pick up some genuine Cuban cigars (Sancho Panza Coronas and Montecristo No. 4 Marevas) and Rum. I have a few questions:

- Where should I buy the cigars? Do they charge you a lot more at the airport for them? How much approx. should they cost?

- How many boxes of cigars am I allowed to bring back to Canada? Does it matter if I have a receipt?

- How many litres or bottles of Rum can I bring back?

Thanks in advance everyone!!!

If you have any details about best places in Jamaica for single women over 25, who just want to go and have an awesome time that would be great! I've already been to Montego Bay and it was pretty fun but we were thinking maybe Negril or Ocho Rios this time. Thanks!!

For my mothers 50th birthday my dad and I are going to suprise her with a vacation to somewhere in reason. Well, my mom will know about the place but not the events we are going to do.

Im 13 and my dad is 53. So it would only be us three. Where would be a better place for vacay cancun or the grand cayman islands? Any other suggestions? We reside in Manhatten so nothing too far away.

These are some commen interests of ours:

Beaches, clear beaches lol not the Atlantic ocean
Culture is what i like mostly, like ruins and natural sights
Shopping is my moms special thing
Activites like, which one has more stuff to do bc we would be there for 7 to 10 days.
And what adventure activties could i do in _____ (your choice: cancun or grand cayman)

What i mean by that is like snorkeling, underground caves, horseback riding on the ocean., parasailing, etc.

Well thanks for your help!!

Please be honest!! Do you believe Americans who come to visit Jamaica are well off?? Is it just me or do you feel it's offensive when you're constantly being asked for money, IPODS, or MP3 Players?? I'm not trying to say this is the case for most or all Jamaicans- I'm just trying to understand some people's reasoning for what they do or say!

Cuba is 90 miles from the Keys in Florida.
This Cuban guy told me that he waited for a storm one day and the day after when the storm had died down he started swimming to the USA and that is how he got here.

Could this story be possibly true?

He said he waited for the day after the storm because this is when the ocean is the calmest and the risk of getting side tracked by the ocean currents is low. Supposibly the currents going from East to West cause many Cubans coming to the USA to miss the Keys or southern tip of Florida and to end up drifting around in the Gulf of Mexico somewhere!

He said Castro had just given permission for anyone that wanted to to leave the Island and a lot of people had started making their way by boat during the storm. That there were at some points dead people and turned over boats floating around that didn't make it the night before. And that this is what saved him from the sharks because they were feeding on the other dead people and so left him alone

What recommendations are there if you could only go one time. We are looking for an all-inclusive, couples only, access to private beaches, a solid nightlife, and...of course, a great price. In a perfect world, we'd have nice private beaches to lay on, but enough activities (snorkling, hiking, bike riding) available. I'm not looking for Julie McCoy to keep bothering us with "Volleyball in 20 minutes". We do like to get liquored up, so a party scene would be good, too. With the knowlege we may not be able to have everything on our list, this is a start. This would be in December 2008. Muchas Gracias.

I am debating because there's a big difference in prices, but i want to be able to see a least some sharks and stingrays, and i'm wondering if i can see that by going only a few ft down in the semisubmarine.

Here in the US they use sheet rock and the houses are so flimsy, but in DR they build them so strong and it's 100% cement. Why is that?

I am about to ruin my famiy's planned cruise by worrying myself into a coma. First of all, will there be enough entertainment for my 13-year old child? Secondly, I read somewhere that coupons can be used onboard to discount certain products. How can I get my hands on a coupon booklet? Thirdly, any recommendations for an alternative to the land excursions offered by the cruiseline...such as local shops in Nassau and Coco Cay? Thanks so much.

I have never been on a cruise. I am more than overwhelmed with what I should expect, bring, etc. I'm going with 3 close friends to the Keys and Mexico for 4 days on Nov 15th. It's the Enchantment of the Seas Royal Caribbean ship. What are some tips? We're not doing any excursions, we just want to drink and relax. Help!
