Your set sail pass is used for everything such as purchases made onboard, room key, pass to get on/off the ship, make sure you keep it close. Usually the pool side bars have the cheapest drinks. Certain places on the ship can be cold, so you may want to carry a light jacket. If you plan to shop in Mexico bring some dollars, they go pretty far. As far as sightseeing, you can usually negotiate with the drivers at the dock, for a really cheap price. Excursions via the cruise can be a lot more expensive. If you're going to Cozumel, you have to go to Carlos and Charlies, everyone goes there. Also shopping is very very cheap in Mexico. Make sure you bring sea sickness pills just in case, buying incidentals on the ship can be pricey. Also soda and water its better to bring it on with you than to purchase onboard. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but if you have any questions feel free to IM me.

I went on a cruise this past March and had a great time. When in Mexico I would recommend getting off the ship and if nothing else have some drinks they are cheaper than drinking on the ship. I went on Carnival and they will not let you take any alcohol on the ship and unless you like beer the drinks can be pricey. Expect to pay over seven dollars for one drink and they have very little alcohol in them. If you leave the ship you can purchase alcohol cheap. They will take the alcohol and hold it until the evening before you leave. Take a catamaran we went on one and they had free margaritas aboard. A lot of fun and only approx $35.00 a person maybe less on Royal. I regret not taking any pictures so take plenty so you can enjoy when home. Have a great time it's hard to believe the water. It looks like someone painted it.

Well go on at least one of two excursions for a few hours in the morning. It is inexpensive and worth it. Just take a sight seeing tour. Make sure it is set up with the cruise ship though to avoid any situations where the price gets jacked up.
Just make sure and not drink so much where you cannot wake in the morning to watch the sunrise over the ocean as you pull into a new port.

Tipping the porters who take your bag is favourite with all cruise lines and ports. The porters at some ports are greater forceful than others in vying for a tip. yet its in simple terms the comparable as the different time once you verify right into a inn and the bell table deliver your bags on your room. A tip of approximately $a million.00 a bag is favourite. the folk who take your bags on the sidewalk do no longer artwork for the cruise line and that they take your bags to the deliver's loading dock and then ships' workers take them from there and distribute them on your cabin. The is not any tipping for bag transport on deliver. In that previous subject you have declined to tip or in simple terms given them some funds and that they could have been happy. With that $10 tip they have been elated!!!!!

Be sure to take tickets, passport, and any essential medicines in a carry on.
Take a little while to research your ports of call and plan activities. I often print out maps, web coupons, bus maps/schedules, etc. and take them with me.
The lines all offer packing guidelines. It's very easy to overpack. If you're not sure, don't take it.
That said, here are a couple of things we've found consistently useful that aren't always on the cruise line's list. Yes, you can often buy them but... travel mugs, a zipable sling bag and bed sheet for the beach, binoculars, bug spray, chapstick, antacids, aspirin, dramamine, camera (underwater camera depending on plans) , ziplock bags, bubble wrap (if you plan to bring back liquor), small bills for tips and small purchases off the ship.
Check the cruise critic boards for even more suggestions.

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then "First Time Cruisers" and "Ask a Cruise Question". You might also want to check out the RC board.
If you're going to Cozumel, you really should grab a cab down to Chankanaab Park [or maybe Paradise Beach, though I like CP better].
Have a great trip!

Dont eat or drink a lot right away, make sure you get accustomed to the motion of the boat first.
