I am debating because there's a big difference in prices, but i want to be able to see a least some sharks and stingrays, and i'm wondering if i can see that by going only a few ft down in the semisubmarine.

That is a question to ask the tour company who is selling the excursion. I can't guarantee you will see anything on a seaworld semi-submarine.
I have never been on either one but my common sense tells me since the "submarine" costs more and they go deeper, you will see much more and it will be much more exciting.

Enjoy)

I've only been in the semi-submarine and it was a satisfying experience, although in the years since cruise ships have proliferated much of the sea life has been frightened away and you don't see as much nowadays as you used to. People who have had the submarine experience rave about it, but I too rather baulk at the price. I would endorse what another answerer said, in that if you really want to get close to stingrays (to the extent of swimming with them and touching them) you should take a trip to Stingray City. There is nowhere quite like it.

The Atlantis sub in Cayman is OK, but if you really want to see stingrays - up close and personal, as they say - go to Stingray City in Cayman. It's not a "city" but a very shallow place in the ocean where the stingrays come around to be fed by the tourists. It's a lot of fun. [I've done both and would much prefer Stingray City.]

Don't know anything about the SeaWorld semi-sub.
