Hi everyone! I am planning to move to Vancouver from Toronto this yr.
Which area in Vancouver do u think is best for me?
Scenario:
-good for people like me who work in hotels, and likes the mix of city and nature views.
-will rent an affordable apartment (or maybe in basement for a start) but in a safe area.
Please HELP (be specific if possible). Thanks!

I am a recent American college graduate, and I have a degree in journalism. I am thinking about working abroad in Canada for several months, and I was wondering what are the differences between American and Canadian journalism? I would like to find something in print media or prublic relations in Canada, especially in Vancouver or Toronto, but I realize this is unrealistic since I have no work experience and because I'm not from Canada. Also, how difficult is it to get an entry-level reporting job in the media in Canada? How difficult is it to get a job in public relations, and would the skills an American journalist has translate well in the Canadian market?

I recently graduated from an American university with a degree in journalism, and I am thinking about working abroad in Canada through a work abroad program. I'm trying to determine if it is feasible for me to stay in Vancouver or Toronto for six months, knowing I probably will not have a high paying job (e. g. bar, resteraunt, book store). Does anyone know what the cost of living is in Vancouver and Toronto? I suspect it is high, but I can only stay in the country for six months at most.

I would appreciate any details for obtaining a work visa for working in Canada as a US citizen. Website references would be awesome, as would instructions or testimonials from people who have done it or know how to do it. Also, any job, apartment, cell phone, insurance websites particular to the Vancouver/Langley British Colombia area would be very useful. Basically, any information for what it will take to live in Langley as far as cost of living and resources for finding those things. Thanks in advance.
