Yep, Vancouver is great in the winter.
Okay, so it's a bit wet ... but there is snow in the hills and the mountains, which are all around, and the water areas are cool to watch. And there are enough "sun breaks" and cloudy breaks in the rain to go for a bike ride or a jog. And it's a heck of a lot warmer than the rest of Canada!!
Besides, Vancouver is one of the most gorgeous cities in the world, year around!

Some say Vancouver is beautiful in the spring and summer, some say all year around, I say it's especially beautiful in the winter.
The fog, the snow, hey, as long as you don't have to see every day, it's a novelty, right? The snow capped peaks, the buildings glimmering off of the water- the place is phenomenal any time of year really. Vancouver is San Francisco 40 years ago. ( Sans snow of course.)
Vancouver has a wet cold during the winter season- the kind that penetrates your coat when the wind blows. The temperature may not be too low, but that wet cold is something else.
Make time for a sidetrip to Whistler; one of the best ski resorts in all of North America.
Safe travels!

Vancouver usually experiences mild winters, but they do have a rainy season. Check on that before you book your flight.

As long as you don't mind rain, and LOTS of it, for a LONG time!
