You shouhld be good candidates for immigration. You will have to fill out all the paperwork and submit it, and wait for approval and permanent residency status. Will probably take 12-36 months, depending on so many different factors.
I agree that Alberta might be a good choice, Calgary is great and a booming city. Only an hour or so away from Banff, Jasper and Columbia Ice Fields. Wonderful area.

The forms and instructions are well laid out and easy to understand. You should be able to do it yourself with no problems. The cost of immigration to Canada has come down recently, too, which is cool.

my suggestion is immigration. i live in grande prarie alberta and every thing here is booming. there is all kinds of work here mainly oilfeild stuff but im sure there is always room for engineers.. a real beautiful place to raise a family. about 45 thousand people and i hour from the british columbia border.

My brother in law was ofered a job in Edmonton, all expenses paid for him and his family and a rental house free for a year all paid because they wanted him..he turned it down
