My friend's son is marrying a girl from Brazil. She and the whole family will be ariving this evening late.
Many of us here in west Michigan hug as a greeting especially in a situation like this, welcoming new family.
Are Brazilians generally warm like that or are they ordinarally friendly but don't like physical contact like a hug.
I'm not talking about the kissing like in France or Itally, just a warm hug and pat on the back.

Is it difficult to get a job teaching Chinese in Brazil, especially in Belo Horizonte? How can I get one? How much can I earn? I am fron China.
I have actually got a degree in English teaching. My accent is native like. Would it be eaiser for me to find a job teaching English than teaching Chinese?
Thanks

This is really two questions:
1. Can I make enough money teaching English in Brazil to have a decent standard of living?
2. How do I go about finding a job teaching English in Brazil?

I want to learn Portuguese. Although I've heard portuguese is different in Portugal than it is in Brazil, do Brazilians still understand it? Where is a good place to start learning it? Any internet sources? Thanks!!

I have never been outside the USA, but I would really like to visit the Rio Carnival.

However, although my boyfriend speaks a little Spanish I know that they don't speak that in Brazil.

So is Brazilian similar to Spanish, or will my boyfriend and me struggle to be understood ?

My wife is from Sorocaba, but she always tells me there is nothing to do there whenever we are in Brasil (LOL), even though Sorocaba is one of the more historic cities in Sao Paulo. What do other people think?
