Portuguese spoken in Brazil is different from Portuguese spoken in Portugal in the same way as American English is different from British English. Our language and culture have been influenced not only by Portuguese, but by Indious people and African ones, as well.

Portuguese is the official language.
Don't worry about all the Indian languages and dialects, probably you will never get in touch with one of theses Indians.
