Diamonds in Brazil?

Has any one been to Brazil. I've heard it's the diamond capitol of the world. I'm going there for my honeymoon, and we decided to get my diamond ring there. any suggestions?

South Africa is the diamond capital of the world .
Brazil does have small quantities of Diamonds , but they famous for :turmaline, imperial topaz, aqua marina, blue topaz, emeralds.
Also they mine Opal, which is very rare

In cities like Rio and Sao Paulo , they have many jewellery stores, and stores like H .Sterns have branches all over Brazil and the world. I think they even have a gurantee where that you obtain a full refund within a certain time limit , if you return you purchase in any branch. Also Sterns will pick you up from your Hotel and take you to their Museum and stores.

In Sao Paulo you should stay in the Emiliano, and have dinner for the view at Unique , and Terraco Italia.

In Rio , you must stay at the Copacabana Palace and try and go to Iguassu falls

Probably you heard wrong.
I think the diamond capitol of the world is somewhere in Africa, Brazil has as many diamonds as the US.
But in Brazil you can find two great stores, H.Stern and Amsterdan Sauer, where you probably could find your ring.

I don't know much about diamond's in Brazil but I have friend's in Brazil. I was going to visit there and decided not to the crime rate there is very high..yes it's a beautiful place but not a safe country.
