I have been to Brazil seven times.
I have visited , Rio de Janeiro,
Sao Paulo, Brasilia, Salvador, Forteleza, Receife, Natal, Joao Pessoa, Belem, Sao Luis, Olinda, Paraty and Trindade .
All those places I have enjoyed.
The Brazilians are friendly and open people.
I love Brazil, the people, the Music, the art, the architecture, and the food.
Brazil is a country of the future, it's a Country to visit , digest and enjoy. It's not as cheap as it use to be , but that's the problem of a weak dollar. Outside Sao Paulo and to a lesser extend Brazil is still great value.

I just spent three months in Salvador. I loved it. The weather was very nice while I was there, but durning the summer it gets quite hot. The people I met were wonderful. Even though I didn't speak much portuguese everyone was willing to be really helpful. I would recommend Brazil as a great place to go.

Hi Flavio,
I'm from Brazil and maybe can give you some hints. Brazil is a great country! Very different from reagion to region. Winter time in Brasil goes from June to August. Summer time Dec-Feb.
Best time to go is during the low season sept to nov. Cheaper, not cold, not very hot.
In the northeast coast wonderful beaches, sun all over the year. In the south you have the 4 seasons.
People are NICE.. really. Brazilians welcome visitors very well.
Brasil is a great place for you to visit, it is more than worth. if you go you will be back, guaranteed!!!

I went in January. It was one of the best trips I've ever taken. I stayed for one month. Two weeks in Rio, three days in Brazilia, 3 days in the Iguacu falls, and a week in the Amazon. I loved the Iguacu falls and the Amazon. The falls are like nothing that you've ever seen. If you do go there, make sure you make a trip over to the Argentinian side as you can see more of the falls. I also loved swimming in the Amazon and seeing all of the different types of animals and vegetation.

Oi, Flavio --
As for me, I've been to Bahia, Paraná, and much of the southeast when it was late fall/early winter -- off-season. Maybe it's easier to put up with tourists anywhere in this world in the off season, but the people I met were very nice.
At higher altitudes the temperature could be 10ºC/50ºF at times, but then they sell warm hats and gloves (!). It was usually much warmer, and it rarely rained significantly.
Life isn't complete unless you experience Brazil. Especially if your name is Flavio.
