...or should I just book a flight to get there, then work the rest out when I am there? I would like to go to thailand, vietnam, cambodia, laos, and malaysia...has anyone gone to asia without all their flights booked, only to book it when they get there? If so, was it easy to do? What about accommodation?

I am thinking of going to Bali in a few months, during a vacation out in Asia. Has anyone been there before? What is the best area of the island and/or hotel to stay at? My wife and I are in good health 39 yrs old and wanting a 2-3 week trip in Tibet and in Bhutan. We are planning on arriving in late October to avoid the monsoon season - but is this so late that we will be in a miserably cold time of the year? We are considering local guides such as Ghale and Royal Mountain Travel? Who else should we consider? Is one of these superior to the other? What are "must do's" and what are "must avoids"? Thanks!

I'm a single 45-year old American male (straight!!!) going to Bali for a weekend in March. Much of what I read is about female tourists (mainly Australian) getting hit on by local boys.

I'm staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. Will there be many female tourists in March, and is there any point in having any expectations of meeting any nice women (other than the locals)?
