I always remember the advertisement which goes... Malaysia, truly Asia. I heard that Malaysia is a multicultural land of extreme contrasts. Traveling can be nice because of the friendly people.

As far as I can see Malaysia is really moving ahead in terms of economy and tourism.
Tourism is great there - so much to see and do and a very welcoming people. There's a real diversity of things on offer - old and new, beaches, shopping, night life and peace and quiet!
However there are still parts of Malaysia that are very conservative where westerners do not realise they have to dress appropriately or they'll get in trouble.
And I must admit to hating the expats in KL - what a bunch od chavaunistsic aholes!!!!!! (Although I'm sure some are nice...)

I was robbed at knife point in Kuala Lumpur and these bastards took away my passport. I reported the incident to the local police and they did nothing. I, personally, would not want to go back again to Malaysia.

I am Canadian and I approve this message.
