Air Travel

I'm flying to Barbados from the UK next week and am staying there for two weeks. But because the tour operator has got an itinery planned, I only have on day at the start of the holiday to do what I want. Is there a way to overcome the jet lag on that one day?

I have this swiss army knife that I have had ever since I was little and I use it almost every single day. I will be traveling to Australia and New Zealand in about a week for 22 days and I'm not sure if I could live w/out it. It' is about 1.5 inches long and it does have a sharp tip. It also includes a small scissors with a sharp tip aswell. I looked at the TSA guidlines but they weren't much help when it came to this question of mine. I would appreciate if someone could give me some advice. Thanx.

I went on a trip in May and got a ticket that way; but it was with a group and the guy who paid my ticket paid for several other people. But now since I'm the only one traveling, will there be a problem if my name on the ticket doesn't match the purchaser's name--the person who bought the ticket? (It hasn't been bought yet.) I just would like to know if I'd have a problem booking the flight that way. This is a flight from LAX to HNL (Honolulu); and I am an American citizen with an American passport. The flight would be a round-trip beginning July 11 (in about two weeks). With all these regulations changing after September 11, I don't know if this would cause a problem. Just would like to know. Thanks.

I'm trying to pack light, and I've squeezed everything I need into a backpack. I suspect the backpack will be too heavy to be carry on luggage. Do you think it is safe to check in my backpack? Will it get lost? It's a slightly bigger than usual L.L. Bean backpack. Should I just pack everything into a huge suitcase instead?
