As of a week or so ago I couldn't carry water or toothpaste onto an airplane leaving from a US airport -- TSA rules. What about int'l flights leaving airports in other countries, specifically from Canada? Can I bring my water and toothpaste back home?

I'm going to be taking my 18 month old son to England to visit my family. This flight is like 8 hours I think and have an hour and a half flight to NJ with a layover and then I have to take the flight to England. Any tips or am I just crazy for taking a toddler on a flight for that long? Any experiences or tips?

at certain times they ask to close them, and at certain times they ask to have them open. and i dont think its a, "if-you-want-to" situation, it sounds like it HAS to be done.

I think it could be stricter. I know its inconvenient but I have no problem with everyone being x-rayed. I also think they should get rid of carry on baggage all together, a purse or small briefcase, god forbid people shouldn't be allowed to have their laptops......Yes I know there is the seperation issue with our personal items, the fear of luggage being lost etc, but for securities sake.....don't you think it would be safer, just screening people, purses and briefcases?
