Can someone picture in my mind the "feel" difference between a 314 shaft and the new Z shaft....I have a 314 that needs replacing and hoping someone out there has used both...which one did you prefer and why.

What is your biggest pet peeve in terms of poolroom slang? Three come to mind for me.
1. When people call the cloth "felt".
2. When people say "rail" when they mean "cushion". (I'm guilty of that one sometimes.)
3. When people talk about "Top English" or "Bottom English".

I know this is picky, but I'm just curious what you all think. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

I've never played the game of 8-ball this way, but one of my buddies claims that if you make a called balled into a called pocket, then the cue ball falls into another pocket AFTER, then the original ball must be re-spoted on the dot thing. I think this is false. Isn't it just a loss of a turn? Is there any actual document stating this? If so, please find me the link.

Do i lose if the cueball hits the 8, but also sinks one of the opponent's ball? The 8 and the cueball still remain on the table.

i know he reached the final of the northern ireland trophy, but all through the that final he was in patchy form. my own theory is that when a player has one or two really good seasons, they have to have a bad one or two. see Mark Williams.

In America, over 40 million people play pool every year, nearly twice that of golf. Pool is a real "sport of the people". Is this the case with snooker in the UK? Being the #1 televised sport in your country, is it played by a large number of the common people? Are there pub snooker leagues, open tournaments, etc?
