What is your biggest pet peeve in terms of poolroom slang? Three come to mind for me.
1. When people call the cloth "felt".
2. When people say "rail" when they mean "cushion". (I'm guilty of that one sometimes.)
3. When people talk about "Top English" or "Bottom English".

I know this is picky, but I'm just curious what you all think. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

Happy birthday shooter! It doesn't really bother me too much when people misuse pool terms. I actually get a kick out of it. What does bother me is when they try to invoke their own rules into the game. In the middle of a game the guy will say something like'' that's the way we played it back where i come from'' or That's the way Iv'e always played it. Where i usually play the house rules are written plainly on the wall for all to see. I guess that would be my pet peeve.

Doesn't matter much to me if they can or cannot sling out the perfect pool terms or slang, as long as they don't turn out to be posers.

What do you think of the movie 'Poolhall junkies'?

ps: the misuse of the term 'pushout'
