I have heard that deer and wild game move according to the cycles of the moon. Hunting may be better during a full moon than at any other time. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this true? Does it really work?

I hear about people up north who enjoy hunting down wolves from the luxury of their own little helicopter, running down the canines till they drop of exhaustion or have no more cover left and get shot down. Do they eat the meat? Or do they become some novalty tropy? And if they do eat them...That seems so wrong...like eating a dog...

I've got the cash, can spend up to $2,500 on him (I won it at a Casino last week). He probably won't use it much so it'll be more of a conversation piece. Plus, I'll probably get it when he passes away someday.

Should I consider a nice engraved double barrel? Or one of those Winchester "Cowboy" rifles? Maybe a pump shotgun...he does hunt goose once in a while. Then again, he is planning to go on an Elk hunt...maybe a nice .30-'06.

He's got all kinds of different guns, but this would be his second NEW one. The onter was his first .22 bolt action he got almost sixty years ago.

What are the suggestions?

I heard wolf got nationalized by the Russian Government and is being forced to fill orders in the middle east, and I also heard that they were equipping the Iraqi army. I've seen wolf prices go up one dollar at one store, and another store have exhausted their supply, what's the story, and when will I be able to find cheap wolf again?

i was researching a gun for home defense and came upon a page talking about how glock pistols are so easy to use (automatic safeties). thats not all good if you think about it. what if the gun got into the wrong hands? it would be easy for your own gun to be pointed and shot at you with ease. (robber grabs it befor you) i've heard that some thieves who got hold of someones gun couldnt get a shot off because they didnt know how to work it (safeties, loading..) so it makes glock seem like a bad idea for home defense. can you suggest a better home defense gun to me? what caliber?

Looking for a place to buy cheap surplus ammo in Phoenix or nearby. I'll need about 1,000 rounds of .223.

I just inherited a Winchester 1949 Model 94 .32 Special (Lever Action) rifle. Have fired it one occasion (yesterday), and it's a real trip.

Two questions: First, how do I estimate its value? I've been told it's 85-90 percent on some scale by a knowledgeable guy in a gunshop. Based on pictures of a variety of Model 94s I've seen online, this is in fine shape. If I could find a place to sell it for a fair price, I'd probably do it. Where's the best place to do that?

Failing that, perhaps I'd just keep it and shoot it. I really like it, the balance is tremendous, and I was quite accurate with it.

Second, where's the best (read: Cheapest!) place to get ammo for this rifle? .32 Win Spl ammo isn't all that common, but I wasn't able to find too many places online that sell it. The local price was $15 for a box of 20 rounds. I'd buy some in bulk if there were a break involved in doing so.

TIA!

While looking at my bosses new 9mm I noticed it doesn't have a safety! Is this gun counterfeit? I have never seen a gun without a safety before. The markings on the upper reads " SW9VE "
I inspected the firearm thoroughly and could not find a safety anywhere. Is this a new trend in semi-autos? Isn't it dangerous?

I inherited a Winchester 67A rifle; it shoots fine, and while cleaning it I tried to remove the bolt. I'm stymied; can't get it off no matter what I try.

So what's the trick? :)

Thanks!
