If most hockey teams are run by Canadians, and they don't market hockey teams in Canada (mostly because they don't have to), do you think that's why hockey isn't taking off as a mainstream or major US sport? Because the Canadians who run the teams don't know how to market the sport?

I know that's 3 questions, but maybe this'll be a fun one for you hockey fans to answer (and to read the answers to)...

If I was to say, I'd pick Center (though Goaltender is a very close 2nd) - A center is the anchor of the team, responsible for good forechecking, backchecking, and taking faceoffs.

And although I'm a Bruins fan, I'd easily pick Jarome Iginla as my favorite - he's a smart, tough, gutsy, and a highly talented player (not to mention a real gentleman) who also represents the game exceptionally well.

Neil Smith was fired today after less than a month on the job. His replacement? The Islanders back-up goalie (I wish I was joking). Let's here what you think of this one.

He had 24 points last year during the season and he was a minus 4. He found a role as a third line centre in playoffs but ask any Oil fan and they'll tell you he wasn't that great. He barely even dishes out hits anymore. Why are Leaf fans so excited that another senior citizen has come to end his career in T.O.?

Marketing stops at the border, which is nuts since Seattle's only 2½ hours from Vancouver and they have two WHL teams in the metro area.

I've met people from Alaska and Montana who come to see the Mariners play at their games, but I've rarely met people from Washington state at Canucks games. What are these Canadian people thinking? The don't even broadcast games in the Seattle area!
