If they got rid of the offside rule, how would you keep the offensive players from playing in your zone the whole game?
Sorry, but I think this was a silly question. I used to play LD. It was hard enough trying to keep those wingers where they were supposed to play. Out of MY zone.

The tag-up offsides I think works the best. If they eliminated offsides all together, then they could have some guy in front of the goalie the entire game - whether a team is on offense or defense. I think it keeps the game competitive rather than just having some guy cherry-picking all-night long.

No.

Besides the boards, the lines are what distinguishes NHL hockey from pond hockey -- not that I have anything against pond hockey, but NHL hockey is designed in part to be better for spectators, and the lines make order out of what would otherwise be incomprehensible chaos for the viewer.

The lines -- and the offsides rule -- stays. Otherwise we'd be watching scrimmages, and while those of us who know the game and play might not mind, Mr. and Mrs. Peoria "we don't even have an expansion team" would.

No, I would like to see something like a floating blue though although it's a bit confusing.

Once you're in the zone, it's not offsides til it comes past center ice.

I think elimination of the two line pass has been adequate to speed up the game. If you were to eliminate offsides, the game would be totally different since I don't think forwards would come back past say the top of the circles. It'd be like lacrosse.

Would you like to see 6'8" hangers stand in front of opposing goalies saying "gimme da puck" and people just throwing the puck up and down the ice? Skating would not exist much anymore without an offside rule. Keep the offside rule.

no I think they should keep it. As it is hockey rules have changed so much with the fast breaks because they took away the two line pass rule. I think they need to keep some rules in play or else it would be a free for all out there

If they took out the offsides in hockey then it would much easier to score and then games wouldn't be as enjoyable!

If you eliminate off sides you eliminate all those break aways and 2 on ones we saw som many of this year. Off sides will never be eliminated. The league will be filled with goal hangers and bottom feeders just trying to boost up their stats.

If they ever want to be successful in America, then yes. Other popular sports in America glorify that sort of thing. In basketball there's the fast break and football theres long passes.
