Take the puck and run with it, because obviously he's not paying attention to the game and won't notice or care if I go ahead and score.

As michinoku said, there's trash talk on the ice all the time. And what do you mean by "pass?" There's contact all the time in hockey, and I can't tell you the number of times I've had everything from a stick to a glove to an elbow between my legs when I'm against the boards with someone fighting for the puck. I don't think you can really get to any of me in gear enough for me to call it a "pass"... who can tell? Who cares? The game's moving way too fast for that. Incidental contact. Move on, whatever.

Women in sports make a bad name for themselves by overreacting to perceived slights, perceived obscenity, perceived rough play.

It's *hockey.* If you want civility and a lot of personal space, go play badminton.

I get physical on the ice for the following reasons: 1. defense of myself after a cheap shot that could have injured me (or did significantly injure me), or defense of a teammate who for whatever reason (small, or too hurt to respond or not his/her shift) isn't responding after a similar cheap shot. 2. to draw a line after a lot of continuing, lame rough behavior by someone who's only going to escalate it if I don't stop it

3. Defense of my goaltender.

In *none* of these cases would I ever use my stick. That's just dangerous and stupid, not to mention unsportsmanlike.

Off the ice? It depends what "pass" is. If that's grabbing some part of my anatomy that one doesn't normally grab in casual social contact, he's likely to get an elbow or a fist.

I still wouldn't use a stick.

If I'm playing hockey? I'd say "1. I'm kind of busy right now and 2. I'm straight."

If I'm not playing hockey, why do I have a hockey stick in my hand?

And that's one to grow on.

Use the common sense thing by ignoring the person. Hitting the person with the stick could lead to an assault charge unless the person puts their hands on you.

Put the hockey stick to good use and hit him with it.

Walk backwards so that he can't pass me.
Then take the stick and whack him in the A**.
(that is if i'm a woman!)
I'm male, so i'll just plain whack him in groin area to remove his
balls for being a gay.

Ignore him, if you play sports you have to get used to trash talk or else you will end up like that French soccer player.

If its during a game, I'd smash him into the boards, and try to goat him into a fight.

If it was on the streets, I'd tell him to "F**k off" and walk away.
