I want to start golfing, and the first thing I need are some clubs, so what is my best bet, spend a lot of money on name brand clubs, buy some cheaper off-brand clubs(clubs are clubs right?), or go to a place like Play-it-Again sports and try to pick up a nice used set?

And FYI, I'm lefty (if that helps at all).

She moved up from dead last 2 times in a row to second to last at the Casio - so hey, at least she is improving!

Any predictions on when she will win her first event, mens or womens?

I'm trying to figure out if the yardage of a golf hole determines its par. Or is it a function of the difficulty?

Am I right? The girl is awful. Maybe good in general, but a HORRIBLE professional. First off, women shouldnt be allowed to play with the men, you would never let a woman play in the NFL, NBA, MLB or in college they would never mix, why in golf? Second, she sucks and will never win a tournament with the men, hell she cant even beat the women.

In saying that, I actually wouldnt have a problem with Sorenstam playing the men b/c she is proven she is by far the best woman golfer in the world, but Wie hasnt proven anything...absolutely anything. This is a joke.......Wie doesnt even EARN her way there, she is just givin it b/c she's a damn girl....

Where do you stand? She should be in mens, she shouldnt, or she should after she proves herself?

Also, they should let the men play in the womens tourneys if they are gonna let the women play in the mens...then they wouldnt like it so much.

I'm 5'9", left-handed and want to buy some starter (probably used) clubs to take a few lessons before spending too much to get into the sport. How long should the clubs be? What else should I look for?

.i have always wondered....

first- i know that range balls are made up of crappy material....nothing close to the pro v1s that i usually play but...how much do they really affect your distance on the range

second- the range that my club offers is only mats...which sucks.. and again my question is...does practicing on grass have greater benefits than mats

and finally- how many balls is too many balls.. to hit...because i heard tiger practices up to 14 hours..obviously all is not hitting...but still...vijay hits 1000 balls...before and 500 after a round...for the mere mortal player...how many balls are too many balls

THANK YOU GUYS AND GIRLS for answering
