Catenaccio describes a tactical system in football with an emphasis on defence and tactical fouls. In Italian catenaccio means "door-bolt" and it means a highly organized and effective backline defense which is intended to prevent goals.

Nowadays, catenaccio is used mainly by weaker teams, in order to reduce any technical gap against stronger ones by showing a more physical approach to football.Catenaccio is often thought to be commonplace in Italian football ...in particular the italian National football team.

The catenaccio system is often criticized for reducing the quality of football games as a spectacle.

Suffice to say, non citizens of France, have been making the most noise. I have met dozens of French people since the Final. In the end, it is a game, an important game, but only a game.
They have seen their team become Champions, so becoming Runners-up is no sorrow.

Take a look around at the posters here, who write the most rubbish, write the most hatred and you will realise that they aren't citizens even of the country they claim to support.
Touzours isn't French, Lady Starlight (as one poster correctly showed her relation to man's favourite animal) isn't French either. Look around at the others, they are not even French, even Italian, German etc.

Citizens of these countries are moving on with life, they have enjoyed the moments, maybe cursed a bit at the time, but it's over.
But we have Americans, Indians and others, who are still fanning the flames.
Why? Because they're kids, in need of attention that their friends and parents don't give.

I say, that if it means more attacking offense football, then yes. Because without the golden goal, the game has become too defensive, or perhaps it is only because some managers prefer it that way for some strange reason. I miss the excitement of golden goals. What do you think?

look....first we saw germany in the world cup 2006 and it was the best team in the world cup.......but i wanna tell every one whom saw GERMANY VS ITALY match....germany deserved a penlty before 8 minutes from the original time at the end of the match when the italien defender jumeped above LUKAS PADOLSKIe IN THE PENLTY CORT....so i think italy didn't deserve the world cup...and it has to be germany whom take the cup not italy or france and every body knows france is weaker than germany and italy is weaker than germany...............and i wanna make a compare between italy and germany playres......
KLOSE is better than DEL PIERO
BALLACK is better than TOTTI
PADOLSKIE is better than GILADRINO
