Zidane is a very good player and so does Materazzi..in the final match,Zidane gave his very best and Materazzi played very well too..they're the ones who scored the goal,right? Regardless of his headbutts,it is a very well-known fact that Zidane is indeed a very good football player..also,regardless of his foul mouth,Materazzi did play very well in the final match,before the accident happened..somehow,both players are indeed great,but of course I can't simply put Materazzi in line with Zidane for Zidane is really in line with legendary football players like Maradona and others..Materazzi has a long way to go..somehow,both players made mistakes in the final match,but both players are humans who of course are not perfect and make mistakes..but it is our duty as football fans to forgive them..I'm sure both of them didn't want that to happen..Zidane apologized for his actions..and I think that Materazzi simply wants to forget everything now..let peace reign in this forum please..please,no more insulting coming from both sides..please..

Yes he is. And for all the muppets comparing him to Ronaldo, Henry etc, its totally different. Completely different styles of player. If he had not been sent off the last night we would not even be having this debate. It would have been an undoubted YES. All the good players of the past had aggression, its what made them special, tough, no compromising, Think Souness, Viera, Roy Keane, Cantona, just because Zidane flipped in his last match doesent mean he should be judged by that 10 seconds. What other player would have the balls to chip the ball from a penalty in a world cup final??? Zizou has done it all, at the highest level, one of the best ever goals in a champions league final(against Leverkusen) two goals in a world cup final and should have got player of the tournament too in 1998. Ronaldo and Henry are class but in different ways. Different positions etc.

Yeah. He's right up there with the legends of the game. Football fans in the modern era are very lucky to be able to see a player of his calibre play.
No offense but anybody who tries to compare Cristiano Ronaldo with him, don't know football.
Despite Materazzi's dirty methods and aggressive approach, he is a very effective defender. Like Claudio Gentile, who is famous for being the man who shut down Diego Maradona in the 1982 World Cup.

Zidane was a great player, he is now retired, while he played his teammates said that he was a very humble person and easy to talk to, he wasn´t arrogant at all....
He is actually one of the 4 top players of all time, that includes players like Maradona and Pele.
The incident at the final of the World Cup, you have to understand he was retiring after that game and he was so close to win the tournament, that became a frustration at a certain point....

I always thought that Zidane was an excellent player, there's no doubt about that.

Zidane is actually really shy and sensitive, hes a great footballer, but he sometimes people said anything to him so he could be sent off.

We all humn we do mistakes and we have feelings and all men have balls so do Zidane. So he is a great player and he play the best he can and he is areal valued player and I would love my sons to be like him. he is the best.
