Australia has defeated India way more than India has defeated -- both in India and Australia. India's record is particularly extremely poor when playing in Australia. Here are the stats, of India while playing Australia

TEST RECORD

overall -- 68 played, 15 wins, 32 losses, 20 draws.
in India -- 36 played, 11 win, 12 loss, 12 draw
in Australia - 32 played, 4 win, 20 loss, 8 draw

ONE DAY RECORD

overall -- 90 played, 29 win, 55 loss, 6 no result
in India -- 37 played, 14 win, 19 loss, 4 no result
in Aus. -- 30 played, 6 win, 24 loss
neutral ave. -- 23 played, 9 win, 12 loss, 2 no result

Everywhere India has been beaten by Australia. In Australia only 6 out of 30 one day India won, & only 4 out of 32 tests won. India is still in single digits, as far as number of wins goes in Australia.

answerers like Oz and many others say India will beat Australia.

India conceded 359 runs in 03 world cup final -- largest conceded ever by India

What make them think India will win this time?

Cricket is one of the world's major sports with a huge fan base. However i must question the direction of this game, its always been a sport of "Country Club Status". Only the elite nations play on yearly basis against each other.

1) South Africa
2) Bangladesh
3) England
4) India
5) Australia
6) West Indies
7) New Zealand
8) Sri Lanka
9) Pakistan
10) Zimbabwe

10 teams in "World Cricket" is insufficient for a game to grow globably in terms of advertising revenue and overall interest in the sport. Other nations play at an associate level (Bermuda, Netherlands, Canada, Scotland, Kenya and Ireland being at the top of that crop). But is that enough? Plenty other nations such as Italy, Uganda, Namibia, UAE and many others are training players and traveling the world for competition, but what young sprotsmen wants to play a sport where he may never face the best in the world such as the case is in cricket? Should more teams be granted top status to compete with the "Big 10"?

the present team, Sri Lanka, could not get near the might Australian Team, but they skittle the poop poms for a miserable 81.

Are the persent day Poms the worst to represent their country?.

They thrash Sri Lanka, who proceed to give England a damn good thrashing and then they coast over the Kiwis. No-one fancies India to do much over there. Are they just too good for everyone else

It's obvious the Black Caps are missing something at the top of the order. Players are fitter today and can play for longer, so should Flem reconsider his retirement. He can still offer a lot to the team.

India's score with Victoria is 133/4. What kind of preview and signs does this tell, when India faces Australia? Victoria is obviously weaker than Australia.

"Bodyline" was the famous TV series made about the cricketing rivalry between Australia and England, and the birth of the Ashes series. I've been trying to find it online, but in vain. Anyone with any info on this, please reply! :)
