I'm not really sure as to what this means.

Does it mean that they've won all 15/15 of their previous matches?

Or that they've played more and some have been draws? i.e. if they were to draw in their next match their streak would still be alive?

i don't think it is justified to be so angry at indian cricket team for 1 big loss.

Bangladesh cricket team loses almost all the time with big margins, but bangladeshis are never upset or angry at their team. They never show any kind of frustration ever and have lots of tolerance for their cricket team even after it fails to deliver. Same thing for Kenyans too. Kenyans also have no reactions when their cricket team loses by huge margins.

Similarly more tolerance needs to be shown to Indian cricket for now because the series isn't over. It is only first match of series.

That performance was dreadful, India is hopeless. India is no match for Australia and shouldn't even get to play them. Instead they should be playing the state teams. At least they would only get beaten by 200!

a defeat of 337 runs should never have occurred for India. I cannot remember any other defeat as bad as this one for India. With all the experience and all the skill of top indian batsmen, a collapse of this kind is too hard to take.

Either it was overconfidence or it was too much cricket (not getting enough rest) but whatever the cause, it was completely avoidable.

i don't even have any more words to express.

Cricket is massive in India, even i know that, and when you see the national side get hammered in a test match, how do the public react?

Cricket is by far the most popular sport in India, so i can't help but think it wouldn't go down too well to lose by 337 runs..

Thoughts?

Defeats of such huge margins unfortunately destroy the morale and confidence of the entire team. After that, the players just give up and don't even try in the next test matches.

Such pattern was observed by India when they toured Australia in december of 1999. They lost the 1st test by 180 runs, the second test by 285 runs and the 3rd test was lost by an innings and 137 runs.

West Indies, Pakistan, and many other countries who toured Australia have shown similar patterns -- after 1st huge defeat, they completely give up.

The indian team came with lots of confidence and determintation but now that will not be there in the second test.

What can be done to avoid the Indian team going into a mode of extreme depression and mental drainout against Australia?

Well both rahul and jaffer have played negative cricket and have never looked for runs whereas if sehwag comes back he can take the game away from any team.
