While India are expected to give a tough fight to Australia, I do not think that they can win the series against Australia in Australia.

If you ask me whether India has the capability to win in Australia, then my answer would be yes. But I feel that Australia has better chance because of Fielding and Bowling.

The teams are arguably even
although hayden and jaques opening partnership is more reliable than India's.

Both teams middle order's are very strong
dravid, tendulkar, ganguly, laxman,dhoni
ponting, clarke. hussey, symonds, gilchrist
Australia's middle order is probably just stronger, just because all their batters except gilchrist are in the peak of their careers, whilst the indian batters are all over 33 except Dhoni, although India might think of that as an advantage because all their middle order will have played in Australia before except Dhoni

India have a big advantage in the spin department, with Kumble being in a different class than Hogg

Australia's pace attack mostly consists of bowlers who bowl at 90mph except clark, whilst the indian's attack has bowlers who swing the ball without great pace, RP Singh and Zaheer Khan, for example, if it is a flat pitch and the ball does not swing then the Indian bowlers will be in trouble, but if the pitch assists swing the the Indian attack could be very dangerous, but then again Clark, Lee, Tait and Johnson all swing the ball as well

I predict a 2-0 win to the Aussies with 2 high scoring draws

It depends on the ability to convert the potential into winning way.If India is to win it has to raise their performance level to a higher plane.
Something that Australia often achieves while India does occasionally.
We would like to pin our hope on that occasional brilliance of India for the present.

Present Aussie star constellation is not favourable to them.
They will be plundered by Dada & Kumble.

Yes,they can.

Compare the team with the team that toured Australia 4 years ago.

Batting is strengthened with Yuvraj,Dhoni and Jaffer.
Bowling is strengthened with Zaheer,RP Singh,Harbajan. We have a potential all rounder in Irfan pathan and 2 new bowlers as tall as 6'5"(Ishant sharma and Pankaj singh).

In past few year,we have rarely had a batting collapse,we also score in fast pace, running btw wickets is better. We have played 8 test matches since the world cup in west indies,Australia has played just 2.

Australia is weakened with retirement of Glen Mcgrath,Warne,Steve Waugh,Justin Langer,Damien martyn,Gillespe. They don't have a good spinner, their bowling is one dimensional.

Phil Jacques,Mike Hussey,Andrew symonds have not faced Anil Kumble in test matches.

So we do have all the reasons to win in Australia.Things that can go against us is Catching/Fielding, facing genuine quick bowlers and umpiring decisions.

Why not!
Impossible is nothing!!!
Our Indian Cricket team boosts of many great players which can take our team to the winning side.
Perhaps, the win against Pakistan has increased the confidence level of our players.
