I don't know under what circumstances he said whether on his own or when prompted by the media into giving this opinion. He could have avoided it.
But when asked to give his opinion should he not have the right to his opinion. Moreover being a great spinner himself and with a good bowling action he is competent to point out the flaws in the bowling action. It cannot be termed jealous the least.Has he not criticised Harbhajan Singh. He is impartial too. What is wrong if he feels anyone with flawed bowling action has an advantage over someone with a clean action. Is he not competent to decide the deviations in various bowling actions.
However as per ICC rules Murali's action is legal. The ICC rules have been modified for a max.angular deviation of 15 degree.Bedi being a purist he is unable to compromise with such deviation. That is it.

I don't kno where u been but, MontiVSme had many past exchanges over this topic & i surely can say this however,
1.Bishen Singh Bedi was the best in his era but, now thiz is the 21st century & sometimez legends of India must adapt to the 21st century & not stick in the 60's70's era anymore.
Overall: I think that Bishen Singh Bedi is just jealous & wants some fame for his name bc, of a S.L. new world record taker name: Muttiah Muralitharan of Kandy, Sri Lanka has taken many International wickets, records, & past Shane Warne's Test record in less matches than Warne did.
Amen.
2.Muttiah Muralitharan proved ICC, haters, Aussie umpires, & the whole world his not a chucker but i guess, some haters of Murali can't adapt to the 21st century.
3.Anyway, Bishen Singh Bedi justs wants fame thats all.....

Murali is suing Bedi for character assassination and making false comments. Murali actually has promised to take Bedi to court.
I do not approve of Bedi making negative remarks about Murali. A positive cricketer who has retired, NEVER criticizes or speaks low of ANY player in the world.
I find it highly negative of what Bedi does to Murali. Murali is talented and has taken lots of wickets, but Bedi says he does not recognize them when cricket boards and cricket books recognizes it and nothing is proven against Murali.

It is disgusting for a great bowler like Bedi to make such comments. If he says Murali does not have a legitimate
action, then that's his opinion and not the ruling body.
If he is allowed to bowl irrespective of his action, then it is all
legal.
The bottom line is this, either ICC are fools to allow this to
happen and think $$$ if not allowing him to bowl.....or
Bedi does not believe his bowling actions are questionable.
I give a damn to either side....and just watch and play the game.
