Major league baseball retired #42 for ALL baseball. No one wears it..except Rivera. Why is it he got special dispensation from major league baseball? I would appreciate a factual answer. Thanks.

Because every time he gets a save I hear things like its a new record for saves in a month for a rookie. I thought his rookie season was last year? And if it this year is his rookie year...is he eligible for rookie of the year?

After his MVP season last year and winning MLB Player of the Month of May, Alex Rodriguez was booed after failing to get a hit in his first at-bat after his 2-run walk-off homerun in the bottom of the 12th inning on Wednesday.

Steve Phillips from ESPN commented on this, saying that A-Rod will not be able to reach his full potential with the fans jumping on his back and suggested that he be moved during the offseason.

I'm not asking whether or not A-Rod DESERVES to be treated as he is now, but do you think he can reach his full potential in pinstripes? Do you think he should be dealt before next season? Can the Yankees contend for the Division if it continues?
