Professional baseball believes in its traditions, and for that reason did not wish to switch to the aluminum bat when it was developed.
Also, league organizers realized that the aluminum bat would give a ridiculous advantage to the batters, one that would grossly affect the game.
For both reasons, you won't see aluminum bats in Major League Baseball.

Using an aluminum bat is banned because it's not only a safety concern for the players on the field but for the fans in the stands. Think about how often you see a player hit a ball straight towards the stands on the third base line. The players on the field have a better sight of the ball and have more room to move whereas the fans do not.

Balls come off of aluminium bats faster than wooden bats so on comebackers, picthers would have almost no time to react and would be hit more often. Also, hitting a pitch (in baseball with a hardball) at 100 MPH with an aluminum bat can injure your hands

Actually, the wooden bat is the traditional bat. The aluminum bat that is used by colleges and high schools is used because it is far less expensive. And besides, the sound that the aluminum bat makes when it strikes a ball is terrible.

because at the speed the ball is being pitched, an aluminium bat would send the ball at playes at a lethal speed, whereas wooden bats dont give as much velocity to the ball, and even if you are hit, it will most likely not be life threatening.

I prefer wood over aluminum, to me it is a more solid hit. I just can not imagine a ball player stepping up with a metal bat

The wooden bat is the original, the alluminum bat was brought in for soft ball,
(wooden bat - soft ball - not good combo)
and also try hitting a 100mph pitch with alluminum ...... not as fun as it looks!!!

if they changed to aluminum bats, all the old records would be useless, because balls hit with aluminum bats have such greater trajectories.
but really, all the old records are already useless because of steroid use now, so i guess it really wouldnt matter if they did change to aluminum, would it?
