I've been invited to attend a "Christian Discussion Group" meeting with one of my friends. It's not that I don't want to go... I just wouldn't know what to do or say. I mean, should I verbally disagree with those things I honestly disagree with, or just shut up and let them talk... you know, to see how they think? Should I toss in my two cents if they ask or should I refrain in order to avoid a big noisy confrontation (because I'm sure my point of view won't be taken quietly)?

Scientist claim that beach sand comes from the waves and tides wearing down granite. Now even though this is logical conjecture and you can make testable, repeatable predictions and experiments from it, it's just a THEORY. And it would take millions and millions of years to make all that sand. And that goes against the Bible.
Conspiracy?

And don't try saying religion is forced apon you, so is McDonalds (they're everywhere)

No one puts a gun to your head. No one makes you do anything...

Moral issues have always been in politics, it's about the $$$, not God. Gays can insure their partners, it just cost more money,..see what I mean? It's not the rightous people keeping you down,...it's $$$, it's greed.

Judging from this, what's your take? I know I am, and I know that my father who was a peaceful person would want me to show that people are people regardless of religion or race. We are one human race. Anyone that advocates killing another due to misunderstanding of religion or anything similar to that is not a good person or a peacemaker. True Muslims are supposed to be peacemakers. Not these crazy extremists you see harming women and nonmuslims. Who's with me?

"Islam strictly Prohibits the killing of Innocent people

This site aims too present Islam's true position towards the evil acts of Terrorism and Suicide Bombings, the terrorists are tarnishing the image of Islam by attaching their heinous crimes to the religion of Islam. I have not once seen any evidence or argument for creation that has not been falsified by logic or the scientific method.

If there is no evidence for the hypothesis that is no reason to exclude it from inquiry. However if there is evidence against it, then it's safe to say it's an invalid hypothesis. There is, in fact, literally tons of evidence that runs contrary to the hypothesis of creation. Therefore we can conclude with fair certainty that creationism is false and the only reasons it continues to survive is because people want to believe it's true, or are ignorant to the facts and therefore can't conceive of a viable option.

Your thoughts?

Sorry I had to re post this question because I've been getting a lot of nonsence and hatred on the otherone.
Salaam alaykum, to all supportive sisters. I am a Muslim revert now. I have now today started wrapping my head, I am very excited. I have a feeling of protection. I just don't have like big shawls and you know the big hijabs. So for now I am wearing the head scarfs like african style. So if any of you know of websites that sell really cool hijabs please post them here. I was taking a look at some, but they weren't very convincing, not like the ones I see sisters here wear.

Thanks to all.

Jesus was a interesting man of his time. But lets face it people, believing Jesus was the son of god is the equivalent to believing a crazy man on the NYC streets is God's cousin.

After watching the republican debate, it becomes obvious to the viewer that Christianity plays a big part in most Republicans lives. Most Republicans also believe that the Global Warming happening in the world today isn't caused by humans, even when hundreds of professionally respected scientists are saying that it is.

So why are Republicans so quick to believe in Jesus, but not Global Warming?

time is stupid.
1 - the first numbers (what i know of) mentioned anywhere is in the bible: before christ after chrst they start counting the years.
2 - other animals arent concerned with time
3 - on other planets there are a few moons, so how does time work there
4 - why 60 seconds in a minute, why 60 minutes in an hour, why 24 hours in a day etc . . . why not other numbers
5 - if number 1 is true is religion controlling time
6 - what happens when the years reach numbers past trillions what is next. where is the end?

Sometimes I hear fundies saying that Catholic artwork (statues, paintings, etc.) is "idolatry", which I know is bad scripture interpretation to put it nicely, or a load of crap to put it bluntly. But I purchased the movie "The Agony and the Ecstasy" starring Charlton Heston as Michaeangelo, and I thought about the love and the toil that he and others put into their art for the sake of beauty and for the glory of God. It made me wonder if people really know what they are saying when they denounce such beauty. I know it was just a movie, but it was very moving.
Has anyone ever seen "The Agony and the Ecstasy"? If not, I highly recommend it. The best parts are at the end. Here is a link to it: http://www.amazon.com/Agony-Ecstasy-Charlton-Heston/dp/B0006GANX2
Also, here is a Youtube link to video of Michaelangelo's work in the Sistine Chapel:

If any of you have seen the movie, I'd like to hear your comments

I don't wander around my town for just any reason. It's because of you and what you don't do.

This same same love is taking us down the wrong path. It's sick! Every time I think about it over and over, I see it if wrong for you!!

I was in Panama in 1984 and didn't remember anything until 1989. I know that! Hector gave me the wrong impression about life! It was my test! I failed for you!

Please just read and do what is right. I can't sleep anymore if you do that same same thing. I quit my job to stop you from doing IT

Science has very compelling and observable evidence that religious experience is empirically a combination of brain chemicals. They have been able to reproduce the results and the evidence has been peer reviewed.

Now it is just a matter of showing it as being a defect as opposed to normal.

After all, almost everyone gets a cold in the winter, that doesn't make the symptoms "normal".

Would you take the cure when it becomes available?

The article was in the Journal Science recently - paid subscrition only to view sorry...
