does it just make you feel smarter?

I hope what you do is worth it, welcome to the new world. I hope you will enjoy it.

And don't try saying religion is forced apon you, so is McDonalds (they're everywhere)

No one puts a gun to your head. No one makes you do anything...

Moral issues have always been in politics, it's about the $$$, not God. Gays can insure their partners, it just cost more money,..see what I mean? It's not the rightous people keeping you down,...it's $$$, it's greed.

Here is the real problem.
If you take away most people's belief in God, they have to find something else to believe in, so they turn to government. If God can't solve all their problems, then government will.

That is why I am more sympathetic towards the religious than the atheists. They may be insane, but they are less likely to force their insanity upon me.

I don't believe in anything but myself, the reality that can be known, and objective truth. My sovereign is reason.

Atheism, like religion, is a private and personal matter. I could care less if you want to worship a risen from the dead ghoul or a pile of crap just laid by an albino buffalo. Whatever gets you though the day. By the same token though that private and personal religion of yours has no place being forced into in my government, my school system, or on public airwaves. How is that stealing peoples hope in a god? Must be a weak and pitiful god if that is all it takes to destroy your hope.

it particularly is human beings such as you which ones are destroying Christianity! Anti atheism is doing a lot injury to Christianity that it particularly is unquestionably anti Christianity – David Manley It takes particularly in basic terms one to make a quarrel. it particularly is ineffective for the sheep to bypass resolutions in favour of vegetarianism, jointly as the wolf continues to be of a diverse opinion. - William Ralph Inge. Why so ignorant of what motives the backlash against christianity? all the different religions and atheists stay in peace and are in basic terms attacked by undesirable christians which motives all reliable christians to melancholy on the wear they do! Up until approximately 40 years decrease back Christianity replaced into thriving and there replaced into no conflict with others yet in purely those few short years the sought after christians have become illiberal, hate filled, bigoted and persecuting ensuing in a starting to be backlash against christianity and inflicting christianity to loose over ten p.c. in below a decade with the loss accelerating! The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only factor that could end it particularly is to desert the adverse human thoughts, look for to rediscover the assumption of a loving god and act like it! Posts like yours that force human beings extra faraway from God are making use of you in direction of hell. So who're you working for the devil or the antichrist because of the fact it advantageous ain't the loving god!

#1 - I never debate religion with anybody who does not approach me first. In the case of Y!A I figure if you don't want to debate it then find another website.

#2 - Religion is forced on us unlike McDonald's. I can choose to never walk into McD's and, other than a few commercials on TV, I will never be bothered by it. But if I ignore religion in American then it will not be very long before there is prayer in public schools, the teaching of creationism, and no more stem cell research.

#3 - Gays could insure their partners (if they were married) but the last time I looked insurance companies are making money by having more customers - not less.

your gay analogy is a little off...yeah, we can insure each other, yeah it costs more...

but, legally we cannot visit our partner in intensive care, because we are not "immediate family"....that's a law.

also, even when there are wills and living wills, if the "blood relative" contests in court, the courts 3 out of 5 times will side with the "blood relative" over an unrelated "friend"

finally, talking about money...I pay more in taxes as a gay man...I do not have a marriage credit, (or penalty depending on income)...I do not have children as a write-off. I pay an exorbitant amount of property taxes to go toward a public school that I have never used, or ever will use. however, I do not have the same rights as straight folks...I cannot visit my partner in the hospital....and to protect our rights, I have to hire an attorney, go to greater expense to try to insure that our estates are handled the way married folks estates are handled automatically...not right....taxation without the same rights.

Lol, I hate McDonald's. But McDonald's doesn't discriminate like the USA Christians do. In the US, atheists are by far the least trusted minority.

One of the atheists on here has said that he has had a gun put to his head, me personally, I I've only been shot at from a distance.

Moral issues have only been in politics for about 200 years, it's not about money, it is about elections and votes. If it were about the money we wouldn't be in such horrible debt.

"welcome to the new world. I hope you will enjoy it."
what is that even supposed to mean?

Mc Donald's doesn't knock on my door, not ro they seek to burn books or close businesses closed on Sudays.
No one's diverting tax dollars to McDonalds.

"Gays can insure their partners, it just cost more money"
but they can't overide "family's" wishes to visit their S.O. in the hospital, or be buried together. This assertion is either disingenuous or ignorant of the many and varied benefits of marriage.

Everyone has a right to their own belief system. What is important is that each person has their own relationship with god/father. At the end it is each of us all by ourselves standing before father, no one will be by our side. like it or not believe it or not. Will he welcome you home because you follow the path of love or will he say sorry try again, because you have spent this life practicing dominion/judging of others.
If you spend your life judging others, father you will not see in the end.

Religion negatively affects every last creature on this planet in some way.

I'd say that's reason enough for me, as a citizen of this world, to make it my business.

It is the height of selfishness to think I should let you have something that hurts the world just because it gives you the warm fuzzies inside.
