in the ten commandments it says don't build statues of god or his followers because it is idol worship, but in every church there is a cross or crucifix isn't that technically idol worship? and be serious dont just say No actually think about it

Im 40 and i have a bf from the Uk.Finally we are going to meet after 18months of daily computer,texts,letters phone calls. We has discussed beliefs before today.He said he thought the belief in God was full of ****,,In the past he had agreed with me on my beliefs or aleast at the time he believed in God.Im not a bible thumping church going person but this has changed my feelings toward him.He said I dont even act i belive in God..which is something i need to work on.There has been some many issues of the cultures and actually distance but we have gone through alot.We love each other.I hate being a hypircrite,,i dont want to break up with him..
