I teach Sunday School to the teenagers in my congregation and usually things go pretty well. But this week I've been asked to teach about Isaiah and I'm not really sure what to say. If anyone has some suggestions I would be really grateful.

Pick one:

a) They were RAPTURED into heaven.
b) There's a great party somewhere that I wasn't invited to.

(For the record, I'd go with b.)

It is said that everything happens to you for a reason.

Someone once told me that even if you were raped or assaulted, God can take whatever happened to you and use it and turn it into something good in the future or something.

What do you think? It's confusing

Okay this may sound dumb but for those christains who believe in peace and love as in Jesus, why vote for politicans who all seem to love war and hate people. Like if they got enough bombs off they go, not very christain, so why encourage them, infact why do we have them. Why can't we just live in Christain communities and let Muslims live in Muslim communities or even all live together and well make bread and they can catch fishes etc. Or did Jesus really want guns, bombs, banks and boarders and old men who fart and kill chidren to run it all?

What we all have know that Osama Bin Laden is responsible for 9/11. Practicing a great religion who markets peace, the ques is not how he did it but WHY? Why does anyone wants to do that? What is his reason? Who is he fighting a war with? Why is he fighting this war?

Most Importantly why did he shouts such sacred and most fierd word in ISLAM such as "Jihad"? Pls someone in the Christian World and the Islamic World need to stop this!

Do remember there once in christendom that they use to assemble the army called "The Crusades"
And never in Islam history that it quake without being provoked.

Info for Real Christians and reminder for Muslims, in case that you might not know this, In the Holy Quran has noted that the Holy Kaaba in Mecca WILL be bombed by non-believers! If that happen, that is the ULTIMATE sign of Dooms Day!

U.S n Israel, bomb all you want but DO NOT harm Saudi Arabia.

Ps:Not that i'm a terrorist mind you. Just asking you guys opinion. Serious reply pls!

I struggle with making the decision of having a traditional burial upon my leaving this world, (yes, I am a "Wise" OLD woman!) which is expensive; or going with the idea of cremation. My religious teachings cause me to believe that I will need my body intact. (For what I do not know). The idea of cremation appeals to me for financial reasons as traditional funeral costs are exhorbant. What do you think about the preservation of the body in death?

Can you can make excuses for the horrors, the pro-killing, rape, slavery, subordination of women, slaying of babies, homosexuals, stoning of people that don’t keep the Sabbath day holy, that fornication, commit adultery, or teenagers that are rebellious? But going by some scriptures, such as a few of the Ten Commandments, he wants you to die also.

The bible has so many conflicting teachings and laws. How can you justify your own disgust for these atrocities? God’s word doesn’t change so don’t claim this was just the ‘Old testament laws’. God’s word is permanent and everlasting; you cannot claim it is out of date or no longer applicable. Listen to God say so himself:

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of Lord stands forever.
1 peter 1:24-25

The grass withers; the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever.
Isaiah 40-8
Same message twice!!!

Psalm 19; 7 Yahweh's law is perfect, restoring the soul. Yahweh's testimony is sure, making wise the simple.

8 Yahweh's precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. Yahweh's commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever. Yahweh's ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.

Now, God, Yahweh is the all mighty, not Jesus. So who’s word would reign if God and Jesus’ laws conflicted? Would you dare to put God’s word last? Just remember blasphemy or idol worshiping of other person but God is punishable by death (even his son). Prepare to take an eternity of burning in hell for your choices; God certainly wasn’t very forgiving to most of the people in the bible.

God wants blood spilled for him, not vegetables, pray to God to forgive you for having a heart and not following all of his repulsive rules and words.

Don’t tell my you looked at my argument logically and still have no doubt or wonder about the beliefs you claim to posses. You are ignorant and unworthy of a functioning human brain if you think you are undoubtedly right.

I have to credit Jamie Cox, one of my professors from Embry-Riddle with this question. I modified it to be more specific.

If, starting at this point, either the concept of Religion or the concept of Science was erased from human minds, which would you prefer it be?

By religion, I mean the search, desire for, or the belief of the existance of (a) higher power(s).

By science, I mean the search for new and better technology and improvement of old tech.

There is no best answer, I will not choose one.

I am a Christian and I am a nurse. My faith is much stronger in my day to day life. I attend church but I struggle with the organized religion overstepping their boundaries. As a nurse I am bound by Hippa laws to protect my patients. Church people are always prying and asking questions that are not of their concern. They publish personal info in church bulletins about personal health matters of patients. How can I get through to them and make them stay within their boundaries without offending them?

Most of you Christians haven’t even really read the bible I’m sure. For you I say, read it and then you have the right to open your mouth. To you others; okay, you can make excuses for the horrors, the pro-killing, rape, slavery, subordination of women, slaying of babies, homosexuals, stoning of people that don’t keep the Sabbath day holy, that fornication, commit adultery, or teenagers that are rebellious? What about destroying and killing whole towns of women and children of sin? Gashing open pregnant women. Why haven’t you launched an attack on all of us non-believers on yahoo answers? Your God wants us dead right? But going by some scriptures, such as a few of the Ten Commandments, he wants you to die also.

However, you escape the act of having to admit to this because the bible has so many conflicting teachings and laws. In some chapters it says kill the unholy, in others say murder is wrong. In some scriptures Jesus says the only way to get to heaven is to behave more righteously than the Pharisees, you must sacrifice animals, in others; it says only to believe in him to get into heaven. Now, what do you follow? According to God himself his word never changes and his laws all remain. His word is perfect and everlasting. So how can you disregard his laws that aren’t so pleasant? How can you justify your own disgust for these atrocities? God’s word doesn’t change so don’t claim this was just the ‘Old testament laws’. God’s word is permanent and everlasting; you cannot claim it is out of date or no longer applicable. Listen to God say so himself:

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of Lord stands forever.

8 Yahweh's precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. Yahweh's commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of Yahweh is clean, enduring forever. Yahweh's ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.

Okay, but then comes along Jesus, with his rules. Now, God, Yahweh is the all mighty, not Jesus. So who’s word would reign if God and Jesus’ laws conflicted? Would you dare to put God’s word last? You make the choice. But just remember blasphemy or idol worshiping of other person but God is punishable by death (even his son). You will be stoned for taking Jesus’ word over God’s. Prepare to take an eternity of burning in hell for your choices; God certainly wasn’t very forgiving to most of the people in the bible. But then again, some of you believe in the trinity, good luck getting coherency and sense out of your beliefs. You can’t just pick and chose what beliefs you want to have, even if they all conflict and don’t make sense, you must believe in them all. No exceptions or excuses. If you are not to be perfect, at least apologize to your God that you don’t have the courage to stone other people or yourself. Or apologize for not sacrificing animals for him. Able did and got God’s approval and love. God wants blood spilled for him, not vegetables. Pray to God to forgive you for having a heart and not following all of his repulsive rules and words.

Don’t tell my you looked at my argument logically and still have no doubt or wonder about the beliefs you claim to posses. You are ignorant and unworthy of a functioning human brain if you think you are undoubtedly right.

the theists and the atheists. None of them can scientifically prove how the Universe and the life were created. The big bang doesn`t explain everything, but neither do the holy books. You need faith to accept the creation presented by some holy books, but so you do to accept the evolution theory because there are some disambiguations. They accuse each other of being ill. So, aren`t they the same?
