Okay this may sound dumb but for those christains who believe in peace and love as in Jesus, why vote for politicans who all seem to love war and hate people. Like if they got enough bombs off they go, not very christain, so why encourage them, infact why do we have them. Why can't we just live in Christain communities and let Muslims live in Muslim communities or even all live together and well make bread and they can catch fishes etc. Or did Jesus really want guns, bombs, banks and boarders and old men who fart and kill chidren to run it all?

Seems like that you are a sincere thinker who wants to do right.

If you read the Bible, some of Jesus' followers wanted to make him king but he escaped. He said that his kingdom is not of this world. He also said that his followers are no part of the world, and will be recognized by the world because they have love among themselves.

We should respect what other people want to do with their right because their free will is God-given. However, if voting bothers your conscience, then you should not vote, because then it is sinning.

I would like to commend you for bringing up a question like this. If this world is full of people loving one another, we really don't need any politicians running/ruining the world.

Honestly, I don't vote. I've looked forward to it my whole life just about, but from the time I was able to 5 years ago, I haven't. You're absolutely right. Politicians don't really seem to care about the issues. They just want to win and be in charge. They put more effort into war and hatred. Also, what I really can't stand is publicly bashing one another. Who knows if either of them is even telling the truth, and you already have the vibe that you can't trust them. I want a politician to stand up whom I can trust to make the right decisions for the people and to take care of everyone and make sure that what needs to be done is done within his ability. I'm not asking that someone go above and beyond human ability and make everything a perfect paradise. That's never going to happen. But I do want someone up there who is respectable and cares about the people and the issues, and who does not stoop to low levels and publicly bash another politician...someone honest and trustworthy. That's the person I'll vote for...so I guess the way it's going, it looks like I won't be voting.

Well because you have to have some sort of voice even if it is the lesser of two evils. It is a question that I often ponder especially this time of year when trying to get to the heart of the issue and weed through all the political backstabbing. There ought to be a law against slamming the other opponents.

Also non Christians who run ad campaigns on Christian radio

I vote. I vote because I don't think I have a right to complain if I don't at least try to make a difference. I try to look at the person's record, not what that person says, so I know if they stick to their convictions or blow with the wind. Unfortunately, I think that the saying "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" is very applicable to we simple humans. I'm sure that there are a lot of people who run for office initially because they want to make a difference. Unfortunately, I think they often become corrupted with all that power.

How old are you?
How many people in your family?
Are your parents really enlightened?
I envy you if they are.
A state is a group of cells, family cells, that need to live together. As for religion, a state needs rules and those who teach them and and people to enforce them.
Laws as religion communities - 'churches' exist to keep human beings, who are far from perfection, live together.
In a democracy, one assumes people can evolve, and become responsible for common decisions. People are different, besides, within each one of us, greed and generosity strugle all the time.
In a democratic society, one needs to have their voice heard, and a vote is the first step to achieve that.
If one wants to help society to evolve, they must also take part on the decisions, and watch what the representatives they elected are doing.
As bad as corrupt polititians are the bad judges and lawyers who support them.

You must have never read the old testament. God approves of war when it is valid. He helped certain leaders win over other evil leaders. Just because someone is a politician doesn't men he has no morals. Society dictates a lot of what the politicians do. It is so pathetic that as men meaning humans we think that we know what God wants. We are not privileged enough to know that thanks to Adam & Eve. It needs to start with your neighbor. Be kind to those you come in contact with, plant the seed, and let it grow. Parable of the Sower. You need to research the Bible a bit more and not judge the politicians since judgement is reserved for GOD alone.

Having morals and doing your civic duty are two different things. The only way to get the type of "politician" in office you want to represent you is to vote. If you dont' then you are letting the people w/o morals vote for people like them into office.

That is a difficult question to answer. I think we has Christians should have our own country, but this is the one we are living in. I try to find other parties then the two rulers we have now. There are some Christian parties out there. Look for them.

Dear, voting is a right and has NOTHING to do with religion...our mud slinging politicians like to bring religion into swaying votes, but these are also the politicians who try to outlaw Christ...2 separate issues, lets leave it that way!
