The meaning of life:

Take everything positive from your mother and father, leaving all
that is negative behind and live life to it's fullest in the process so by the ending you and those close to you know that you did live life to it's fullest, than you can die satisfied with no regrets at all.

Faith is hoping (or believing) in something you cannot see (or know).

Atheists (at least ‘strong’ or ‘positive’ atheists continually argue that they do not believe in a deity by reason of absolute knowledge of scientific fact. ‘Weak’ or ‘negative’ atheists (and agnostics) would even argue against this statement because there is no scientifically proven fact that can support their claim with absolute certainty.

Theists (Christians, Muslims, Jews, Etc.) continually argue that their worldview is supported by opposite evidence and a spiritual experience or knowledge (usually identified as emotionalism atheistically). Anyone of logic or rational thought could argue that this cannot be verified as absolute truth either.

Both sides cannot be known as absolute truth without faith in things they cannot KNOW as absolute truth from a scientific perspective. If you had a box that could not be opened you could not know with certainty that there was either something or nothing in inside. You could argue either way based on the size, shape, weight of the box, etc. but it is only an argument based on logic. You could not prove it without seeing it. It seems to me to be based completely on logic, an agnostic point of view is the only real truth. You cannot know for sure. Agnostics don’t need a faith at all.

1.Life has ying and yang. Atheists and believers can believe what they like. Debate is good. Vitriolic comments are useless and a sign of an oppressive mentality.
2.Once facts are known as facts, they should be accepted by all reasonable and objective people.
3.One cannot prove God exists. One believes in God by faith. All religions are faith-based. There are many reasons to believe in a creator.
4.When religion becomes a political power, it is a force for oppression. Thus, effort must be exerted to keep religion out of political power.
5.God is truth. Science pursues the truth. Reason and faith are synergistic, not antagonistic.
6.Macro-evolution is clearly visible in the fossil record. How Macro Evolution happen is still unproven. Random chance and natural selection are a theory that requires faith to believe in.
7.People can have a purpose without believing in a Creator. Without a creator, philosophy cannot "justify" in the grand scheme of nature, that life is meaningful.

Ok, I'm not trying to post a smart aleck question, I'm just trying to understand this and I'm really looking for honest answers. In Exodus God tells Moses how to make the altar for burnt offerings. It is made of acacoa wood and overlaid with Gold and brass. Now even though it has a thin sheet of metal on the outside, woudn't that metal still conduct enough heat to carbonize the wood? Remember, they were burning whole animals on those altars. that takes a whole lot of heat.

The Church is very vocal and active in trying to stop abortions. When it comes to pedophiles, they don't say much. In fact, instead of condemning it, they cover it up.

If there are over 50,000 DOCUMENTED errors in the bible, how can Christians still believe that it is the literal word of God. And if God is a perfect being, how would he allow so many errors to occur. Perhaps he PLANNED for them to occur so the bible would change to speak differently to different generations? Of course this beg the question of why a perfect being couldn't make it straightforward enough to being with.

The Biblical description of the flood in Genesis chapter 6, 7 and 8 indicates that the deluge was universal and it destroyed every living thing on earth, except those present with Noah (pbuh) in the ark. The description suggests that the event took place 1656 years after the creation of Adam (pbuh) or 292 years before the birth of Abraham, at a time when Noah (pbuh) was 600 years old. Thus the flood may have occurred in the 21st or 22nd Century B.C.
This story of the flood, as given in the Bible, contradicts scientific evidence from archaelogical sources which indicate that the eleventh dynasty in Egypt and the third dynasty in Babylonia were in existence without any break in civilisation and in a manner totally unaffected by any major calamity which may have occurred in the 21st century B.C. This contradicts the Biblical story that the whole world had been immersed in the flood water.

So many people now-a-days claim to be Christian. I am afraid that many who do this have never read the Word. I always hear that Christ is love. That Christ cam with a message of peace. If you read the four gospels you will find that is not the case.

Matthew 10:34 - Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Matthew 26:52 - Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

As a self-proclaimed Christian do you believe that Christ died by the with the sword? and if so, what was his sword?

Evolution assumes that man dropped out of the trees 1 to 5 million years ago and became fully human approximately 100,000 years ago. Yet archeological records show civilization arising only about 5,000 years ago (based on evolutionary thinking). In other words, by evolutionary reasoning, it took mankind 95,000 years after becoming fully human to figure out that food could be produced by dropping a seed into the ground!
It has been estimated by evolutionary anthropologists that the earth could have easily supported 10 million hunter/gatherer type humans. To maintain an average of 10 million people, spread over the entire plane, with an average life span of 25 years, for the last 100,000 years . . . .would mean that 40 billion people had lived and died. Archeological evidence clearly shows that these "stone age" people buried their dead. Forty billion graves should be easy to find. Yet only a few thousand exist. The obvious implication is that people have been around for far less time.
Another indication of both a young earth and a confirmation of the worldwide flood is the scarcity of meteors in sedimentary rock layers. Although some meteors have been found in sedimentary layers, they are relatively rare. Meteors are easily identifiable, and many thousands have been identified and recovered from recent impacts on the planet’s surface. If most of the rock layers were laid down rapidly during the one year period of a worldwide flood, you would not expect to find many meteorites buried in only one year. However, if the sediment was laid down over billions of years, there should be multiple billions of meteorites buried within this sediment. The fact that we find so few is another possible evidence for the rapid accumulation of the sedimentary layers and a young earth.
Suppose you walked into an empty room and found a smoking cigar. You could assume that the cigar was very old and that it had only recently burst into flames, but the more logical conclusion would be that someone had recently been there to light it. The universe is full of similar "smoking cigars":
1.All planetary rings still exhibit intricacies which Should Have long ago disappeared.
2.All known comets burn up their material with each pass around the sun and Should Have a maximum life expectancy of 100,000 years.
3.The outer solar system planets should have long ago cooled off.
4.The spiral galaxies Should Have long ago unspiraled, and the uneven dispersion of matter in the universe Should Have long ago dispersed.
Scientists working from the preconception that the universe is 10-20 billion years old have suggested controversial and complicated possibilities for how these types of transient phenomena could still exist but their explanations are based more on faith, not science. The simpler explanation is that these "smoking cigars" are smoking because they are young.
What about dating methods which do seem to indicate that things are very old ? As seen in the first article on dating methods, assumptions are everything. For instance, carbon-14 generation rate has never significantly changed. This method does not date the age of the earth but understanding it can have a profound effect on our interpretation of the "ice age" and the "stone age". A recent worldwide catastrophe would have caused an enormous change in the total amount of carbon on earth's biosphere. This event would completely invalidate one of the basic assumptions of the carbon-14 dating method (a known carbon-14 to carbon-12 ratio throughout the measurement period) and lead to excessively old dates for organisms alive shortly after this flood. This problem with carbon-14 dating assumptions will be described in detail in another article.
