The Biblical description of the flood in Genesis chapter 6, 7 and 8 indicates that the deluge was universal and it destroyed every living thing on earth, except those present with Noah (pbuh) in the ark. The description suggests that the event took place 1656 years after the creation of Adam (pbuh) or 292 years before the birth of Abraham, at a time when Noah (pbuh) was 600 years old. Thus the flood may have occurred in the 21st or 22nd Century B.C.
This story of the flood, as given in the Bible, contradicts scientific evidence from archaelogical sources which indicate that the eleventh dynasty in Egypt and the third dynasty in Babylonia were in existence without any break in civilisation and in a manner totally unaffected by any major calamity which may have occurred in the 21st century B.C. This contradicts the Biblical story that the whole world had been immersed in the flood water.

so whats wrong here

i didnt get enough answers last time i asked, hopefully that will change

Whats wrong is that the Bible story is just that - a story - while the historical and scientific evidence point strongly to a different set of facts.

Nevertheless there is also strong evidence of major floods in early times resulting from the melting of the ice cap at the end of the last Ice Age. This would have inundated almost all coastal settlements and is strongly believed to have resulted in the flooding of the low-lying basin which became the Black Sea. Such a flood would have been both sudden and disasterous and would have made a great impact on the lives of those who were lucky enough to survive (with or without the use of an Ark). Evidence of human occupation of the area which is now the bed of the Black Sea is accumulating and it may well be that memories and stories handed down through the generations contributed to the Great Flood story.

Many civilisations around the world have similar stories and myths about great floods and it would seem both logical and likely that they have some basis in fact.

Whether God intervened in what seems to have been an entirely natural process of rising sea levels remains a matter of faith rather than fact.

What's wrong here is that Moses took a story about water levels rising following the end of the last ice age, and exaggerated it considerably.

The whole earth did not flood.

There are several other cultures with flood stories (e.g. The Epic of Gilgamesh). They're all tales based on an actual event -- but greatly exaggerated. If you read the stories about Paul Bunyan, you'll find that some of them are based on actual people and events -- but way way exaggerated. Noah (etc), same sort of deal.

Your chronology is completely wrong man it would have been way before the eleventh dynasty of Egypt. Christianity aside, if you want more facts that don't add up get the book 'The Coming Global Superstorm' by Art Bell and Whitley Strieber it would probably interest someone like you a lot. : )

The Bible is not a science book or a history book. It is a spiritual book. The problem comes in when people try to make a spiritual book into a science or history book and vice versa. It is paramount to counting oranges and reporting the number of apples that is on hand. They don't mix, but they both have good value for their intended purpose.

There is nothing wrong. The bible is all truthful and relevant. Any person can try to :scientifically explain away the bible .. but the science doesn't hold up...this is a faith issue. You need to believe in the Bible. Man cannot understand wht God has done and I am not sure man is meant to understand it until we are standing in the Glory of our Holy Father. You cannot make God fit into a mold of man;s making. Have Faith !

Scientists also can't explain large jumps that occur in evolution on a macro scale but they believe we evolved from puddles of goo even with a staggering lack of empirical evidence. Why would I believe what they have to say about an issue they don't even believe in.

Nothing's wrong. It's a myth. Like Jason & the Argonauts, the Trials of Hercules, etc. It doesn't hold up to scientific scrutiny.
