I can see where you are taking me but I think my answers may not be what you expected. I am Mormon, I believe in the literal creation of the universes.
The earth is Billions if not trillions of years old. Mountians form from geological processes such as techtoninc plates and glaciers. Everest is one of the youngest mountians on the planet. We know this because Weathering and erosion will cause a mountian to become smoother and smaller through time. The grand Canyon is also very old though again younger that say the Apilacians. We need flu virus shots every year to allow for the evolution of the virus.

Now you are asking how I can believe both.

We assume that because "God" can do anything that he does. I don't!
I believe he follows rules. This is evident in the covenants made by him with man. If we obey and honor those covenants he MUST honor his end of said covenant. So also are the laws of the Universe. He created the Universes to follow certian laws. Some of which I believe we don't even fully understand. But by doing so he promised to follow them also. Evolution is not a chotic process of random change but instead a tool used. Many creationist become confused by the "6 Days " of creation. Further study and proper reading shows us that these were periods of creation not actual days. They were "called" days. So this is my theory. Creation and evolution don't disagree but instead are parts of the same whole. I hope I have surprised you and given you a new thought process.
