This is the choice that was given to Eve. She made the right choice. Like her, I choose knowledge over happiness, and I do it every day.

I do it because I believe it is right to choose knowledge. Choosing ignorant bliss has no honor.

Innocence not ignorance is the proper word for a man to be happy. Be wise and there is responsiblity attached to it which can make you both happy and sad. Happy to share what you learned and sad if it is not recognized or ignored.
Ignorance is not accepting to learn therefore there are more miseries following it like a shadow.
Wise people never gets sad they can always find a way to enjoy life as it goes...... they keep moving on.
Ignorant people do not want to see the light at the end of the tunnel so they get stuck to what they thought are their comfort zone.
Innocence is what make a child happy for the little amusement he gets from the ones who love him.

Who says wisdom leads to sadness? Who says ignorance leads to happiness? Certainly people who are better educated and exercise independent thought are more contemplative or might get more angry or worried over certain things -- but that's part of the Real Life (tm) experience. It makes life richer. Happy all the time is NOT natural. Life needs its ups and downs. You need downs to appreciate the ups. Besides - without those independent thinkers our society would not have progressed as far as it has. Just some food for thought.

Wise, but not sad. As the Spanish singer Joan Manuel Serrat says, "it's never sad to know the truth". It may be disappointing at the beginning to know there is no eternity or god or heaven, if that's what we're talking about, but once you come to terms with the fact you're going to be around for only 80-100 years, you learn to take the most of them, and not to be misguided into pawning your present in exchange for false promises of a perfect future.

Romans 1:13 - Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
