what is the doctrine behind gaining penance and forgiveness through the "Hail Mary" prayer? first- i understand the "rosary" and it's deca-cycles so please dont explain that. just wondering why not go straight to Christ, redeemer of our sins, for forgiveness rather than focus alot, not all but alot, of prayer toward the Holy Mother during our confessions of sins?

I pray to god to understand the minds of theists and atheists alike.

I pray to good that I will be able to use my knowledge to help others become acceptable and outgoing so that they can live their lives freely.

I pray to god that those with afflictions will let me know of their pain. I pray to god that those who recognize my afflictions will show me the light.

I pray to good that I will wear these shoes that others have worn so that I can be at one in mind with them. To help them recognize that there is more, and action must be taken.

I pray to god that evil won't be part of our lives anymore.

I pray to good that I will understand why good and evil must be balanced for evolution to take place.

My true question: Why is what I believe to be good, and what I believe to be godly so much different, yet on the same path?

In Isaiah 7:14, the verse speaks of a virgin conceiving. Christians claim this is a prophecy, fulfilled when Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. The Hebrew word translated as virgin is 'alma'. According to the top Hebrew scholars and Hebrew Bible experts, the word, 'alma', means "young woman". If the word translated as virgin means a young woman, and not virgin, then how can the New Testament (and thus Christianity) claim that Jesus fulfilled prophecy by being born of a virgin. 'Bethulah' is Hebrew for virgin. If there was a prophecy for the messiah being born of a virgin, why wasn't the word 'bethulah' used in Isaiah 7:14?

they state I dont live in this world anymore- but they dont understand what they're saying- they just say it

.,-why do some christians pray loud, when the bible tells us not to?
-why do they lose all understanding for actual themes and it seems like they can only talk to people that are like them and pray loud while it's NOT WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE TO DO THAT?`?????

PLUS: why do those know it all- ******* have FEMALE PRIESTS while Paul says that female priests are not allowed?

IT GOES ON MY NERVES!!!! THIS half-assed pseudo EXTREMISM! they claim to be real christians but they dont even read the whole bible!!! want to know it all and go missionarize other people. Think they are saved and have no problem, look at your own piece of wood in your eye before you want to take the splinter out of your brothers eye!
I HATE IT , when people who know less than other people behave as if they knew it all. and saying "GOD" all the time and praying loud does not mean you are closer to him.

That is very un-Christlike, and I don't think you are truly saved. I think your harsh words show that you lack the fruits of the Spirit, and what does Jesus say if you don't bear fruit? He's going to chop you down and throw you into the fire to heat his grandmother's furnace.

I have seen and heard to many people answer questions with "well I am a christian." Also I look at peoples profile on yahoo or myspace and i find things like "I a happily married christian with 3 kids" or one of the most memerable myspace's about me, "first thing you need to know about me is that I am completly in love with Jesus". I am seriouly like WTF, I never hear people say things like I am a satanist with 3 kinds, or happily married buddist.

After Jesus throws the unbelievers in Hell to make the suffer forever (instead of simply destroying them and restoring them to the state of non-existence which they were in prior to birth), how long do you think you'll feel sorry for them?

My parents are unsaved, and I think I might care for about 2 seconds, and then I'll go flying with Jesus and eating the clouds with him. It's going to be so sweet!

Man, wasn't God so smart to keep every single soul alive forever!? God forces everyone to be born into a world where your eternal fate is all decided on whether you are capable of believing an antiquated book of dubious origins! It's funny, because everything was fine when I was in a state of non-existence, but then God forcefully draws me out of there and says "Do what I tell you or I will torture you!" and if I say "Can't you just put me back to the same state I was in before you forced me into creation without my consent?" he will just laugh and punch me in the nuts! LOL JESUS IS COOL

Well, i have been doing some research...where to begin...Though shall not worhship false idols...what do the catholics worship...Mary, everything in the catholic religion revolves around mary mother of Jesus, also, they pray to mary, and you should not pray to the spirits you are to pray to The Lord God in the name of Jesus NOT in the name of mary...so does this mean that Catholics are going to hell? and please, this is not to slam catholics in any way, i am genuinly curious of the matter and deeply concerned because i have many catholic friends and am truly worried about them.

Our Planet is damaged beyond repair. How does it fit into ANY religion to poison and abuse and destroy? Call it "gods creation" or "Gaia" or just the blue planet, third from the sun, but what the heck would we be bickering about if none of us could live on it anymore?!? It is really a lot worse than most people realize and I guess no one wants to deal with it. People would rather debate cryptic ancient passages from their favorite "holy" book and try to prove each other wrong about everything. We need to co-operate!
(For any one not convinced or aware of how serious the situation is, there is plenty of evidence online and recently a film "An Inconveinient Truth")

The word "Believe" means to trust, to depend on, to rely on. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means that you accept the fact that you are a sinner, that as a sinner you owe the sin penalty, and that Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and arose again on the third day to pay the debt you owe.


Now, if you will TRUST Jesus Christ as your Saviour,

I'm a Christian that feels that Christians and Jews could be working closer together to help make this world a better place. I feel we share a great love for God, and I'd just like to have someone of your faith available to just bounce inspiration and ideas off of. I think there are walls up between us that are just plain silly. I think this world would be a better place is we were working together.
