The Gospel of Judas says: "The star that leads the way is your star, Jesus said to Judas... You will exceed all of them for you will have sacrificed the man that clothes me."
National Geographic reported that scholars interpret this quote as:
"Jesus is asking Judas to make the ultimate sacrifice -- to sacrifice himself -- and to enable Jesus to fulfill his mission on Earth."
"....The soul of Jesus will be liberated from the body that entraps him. His soul is now liberated to come to heaven."

What do you guys think about this new text?
Are you skeptical of it? Why or why not.

Ok, i always notice in discussions about whether God does or does not exist, i always see christians saying that there has to be a god, because the world could not just "poof" and appear....that god created everything....sooooo, my question is this........

If evolution is false and nothing can just appear out of thin air, then who created god ?? i mean, God had to be created too, right?? He/She could not have just "poofed" and appeared, right??

And please, do not mistake my question for instigative or derogatory, I am asking a serious question because I, as a non-believer, am curious to know what you think. I truly do not intend to offend anyone. I have no problems with anyone who believes in God. I feel that it is each person's decision to choose to believe whatever you want to believe in. And I am ok with that.

Thank you, and I apologize if i offend anyone.

instead of protesting what they mistakenly think is the teaching of the Catholic Church? The only way to know for sure what it means to be Catholic is to go to an official Catholic source (i.e. the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Code of Canon Law, official Papal document), otherwise you will always appear ignorant to others and have zero credibility for your accusations against the Church.

Would it make sense if a magazine like Car and Driver (to give an example) gave a review about a car without being willing to crack open the manufacturer's user manual and if they just gave their review based on rumor that they heard from someone? How much credibility do you think they would have?

Lie on Atheists

Assume things about Atheists that are totally false

Answer questions about Atheists just to make us look bad

Lie and say they were former Atheists just to make us look bad

Try to scare us into believing by mentioning hell

say they will pray for us even though we know they would be just talking to themselves

YOU MUST REALLY BE WORRIED ABOUT US. IF YOU WEREN'T, YOU WOULDN'T BE DOING ALL THOSE THINGS

anything but any of those three?

From the Egyptian pyramids to the South American Temples of old to the India temples of the Hindu to all sorts of other places and cultures, there is enough evidence to suggest that there was other religions before and they only died out because of new more popular religions and/.or because of mass murder because of the new religions. But not all religions were crushed and not all faiths destroyed because of the rise of newer faiths. But the fact remains that no temple and no artifact predates those of the ancient and in many cases died out religions. Why is that, do you think?

Every articfact of these three newer religions are most often less then 3, 500 years old.The Egyptians had already built many temples that were thousands of years old by then.Where is some older then that Jewish, Islamic, and/or Christian relics that predate that?If the Bible, Koran, or Torah is right then one of those faiths predates all and should be able to prove it.

The "full" quote, according to the NASB translation of the Bible, reads (Jesus speaking):

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household." (Matthew 10:34-36 NASB)

The Lukan parallels read:

"I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled!" ... "Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three."... (Luke 12:49,51-53 NASB)
"If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple." (Luke 14:26 NASB)
