if he exists they should

2006-07-17 15:31:46 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

As one avowed (but honest) atheist/scientist put it.., they cant prove God exists - but then they cant prove he does not exist. Why? They have no clue what to look for.

They have to know the stuff he is composed of, where he is, how to measure and test. Since science does not understand nor grasp the idea of spirit it is impossible for science to go either way on it. All they do (admittedly so) is disbelieve because they have no evidence, not because there is not evidence.

I know God exists - they believe he does not. My belief in God is as valid as their disbelief - only my belief is more valid because why? FAITH! Faith is the evidence - and I don't need a measuring cup nor a set of atomic weights nor test tubes, etc.

HOWEVER - one day we will see him! We will see him through God's expressed image - JESUS! when he takes his seat on the throne of David after his return and he kicks the Antichrist, the Antichrist's false prophet and all the Antichrist follower's butts to hell and back.

You'll know his return is immanent, when you see the Antichrist perching in Jerusalem at the Dome of the Rock mosque.

Of course not. Since god has been hiding 'in an undisclosed location' for the past 3,500 years or so, science will never find him! He's... he's... he's GOD, for crissake. They'll never find him... unless he WANTS to be found... right? So, I guess it's not up to science, is it? It's up to god hisself. He's gonna have to drop in on CNN during prime time... of maybe light the White House Christmas Tree on fire, and address the nation from within the flames, during the lighting ceremony. Something like that. Science doesn't really give a rats a$$.

Oh... just for the record... science isn't TRYING to prove god exists. God is beyond the work-scope of science. Science is concerned only with natural explanations for natural goings-on.

No, because then we wouldnt need faith :) Without faith, Gods existence is just fact, and people will accept fact without a second thought. Faith, however, comes from love and understanding..so the existence of God is only beneficial and useful to people who can understand, without proven fact, that God exists. I hope that isnt too complicated.. I was aiming for simple, but got lost somewhere on the way :P

Never ever. Having material proof of God's existence means, there is no such God. God Must be above any 'material' attempt to prove his existence.

I don't think so. That would destroy the mystery and the romance of the quest. Furthermore, science is a study of the natural, and does not seek answers to explain so called "supernatural" things.

That doesn't mean that science can't illuminate the wonder of God's creation. Surely it can do that.

science only makes proof that God is dead. God exists because people believe. you can not measure belief or test it. it can not be put in little jars and let it be studied, God is not empirically sound. God is what you believe not you mom or dad not your priest or pastor. The title only makes things easier for the majority

No. God doesn't want that. Why not?

This issue kind of raises the question of free will, not doesn't it? If God suddenly appeared and said "Believe in me or go to Hell!", then you would have no choice BUT to believe in him.

It would be kind of coercive, like putting a gun to your head.

Since God is honest, he has to give us a fair warning about Hell; because God values free will, he cannot appear in a manner that leaves no possible response but obedience (because his presence is too overbearing to us mortals).

So God gives us enough evidence that belief in his existence is plausible, but not enough evidence that his existence can be proven with certainty (he only appears to people who already believe in him, so there is no coercion). People who LIKE God will believe in him; the people who do NOT like God will choose not to. So free will is preserved.

No certainly not. Science is incapable of proving that (for example) John F. Kennedy ever existed. For that, you need to refer to another area of knowledge, called History. Science simply does not apply to other areas of knowledge, such as History, Theology, Philosophy.

Not in the 3 dimensional sense no, but they are closer to proving he does exist than many christians think they are, because they search for 'truth' and not just third dimensional truth.

Yes I am christian, but I also have a scientific view.
