Catcanscratch,
That's actually a really good question that requires thought. Thanks.

I have been so exposed to the scriptures that I have no doubts. I all lines up so perfectly in my mind ( I know that I am out numbered on that, but that's not my fault! ) .

Did you ever have someone tell you that Christianity isn't about a religion, but a relationship. Let me be another one of those people, or the first, whichever is true.

CCS, I do love God. And He takes care of me. I do things while talking to Him. I never hear voices, but I know that He's there. I know that there is not an end for me. And I would love to see Him today, but only if he wills it.

Life after death? It seems a rudimentary way to say living as an heir to the Throne of Christ, a Citizen of the Heavenly Kingdom, and a Brother by adoption of Jesus the Christ.

It's what He made man for in the first place. That's what will make us considered higher than even the angels.

I guess I crossed the line of Life after Death a long time ago and have the same scriptures telling me the details.

I hope that answers your questions.

There is a principle of nature that is called the "design argument." It affirms that where there is a design there must be a designer. When we look at a camera we automatically proclaim "what great design! what craftmanship! Yet the shutter of a camera was designed after the human eye. When we look at a watch, we likewise see magnificent design. When we look at a house we know there was design. From the architect, to the mason, carpenter, plummer, and electrician there is great thought and planning. So is it true when we look at the human body or this earth and the solar system. There is great design and planning. It is impossible and quite absurd to suggest that there is not intelligence behind all of these I have mentioned. Thus our only logical conclusion is that someone higher in intelligence and power brought all life into existence.

Now to your question of life after death? If life on earth is all we have to look forward to then why try to be good if all our efforts will not gain a better life after this one? If there is no possibility of consequence after this life of behavior in this life then there is no right or wrong based on an objective standard. I have no reason to respect anything or anyone, because everything is relative. But if there is a higher power that brought all life into existence then it is also reasonable to expect that he did not bring all life into existence only to let us make up rules as we went along on how we are to behave toward one another. This would be cold and uncaring and incomplete. Thus there must be life after this life. A reward for everyone for their behavior, good or bad.

I don't believe in it. I hope for it and long for it.

I suspect that life after death may be possible because existence itself is a far greater and glorious mystery than merely extending it for an eternity.

And, that because time is an illusion, our identities are etched into the fabric of the universe as immortal souls that might change form or change vessels but not die.

But these suspicions do not rise to the level of full belief. If they did, I would not fear death...and I do fear death very much.

If there is no life after death then there will be no purpose of life before death at all ......if You believe in God You should know that he is The Just and he must reward you for all the Good deeds you have done or condemn you for all the bad deeds you have done to others or to your self ....that's why there is life after death

I believe that this life is not all there is to it. I believe in a higher being. I believe our souls will live on after death because death happens to our physical bodies but the soul transcends the physical. So there is life after death but not as we envision it as we are limited by our experience in this life.

Well, LIFE after death would be an oxymoron. I believe in existence after death. What state will I exist in, I really don't know, but I know that science believes that it's not possible to destroy energy, only to change its form. It's inconceivable for me that consciousness is only a byproduct of physical existence. It must be an energy and therefore that energy must exist beyond death. In what form, though, I don't know.

Human beings, as well as all living things are made up of energy. As Einstein proved in his studies on energy, energy can never cease to exist. It only changes form. If humans follow suit, we can never cease to exist either.

If you can think of it like this: we can store energy on cds, film, screens. Send that energy through airwaves and reform it in another place. We can duplicate it.

Thinking about the amazing things that we see everyday that we accomplish with the earth's energy, is it so far fetched that we as beings of energy could also exist on a spiritual plane or even another dimensional plane? This is the one theory that makes me believe in the possibility of an afterlife.

The teachings of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
John 14:1 "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

Our ability to dream at night, while awake. We can drift inside our own minds. That's not just a bunch of chemical reactions. A computer has actions, but has no soul when you turn off the power button. A computer doesn't dream for itself, have feelings, love and cry. Simple comparisons are all I need.
