Ok, i always notice in discussions about whether God does or does not exist, i always see christians saying that there has to be a god, because the world could not just "poof" and appear....that god created everything....sooooo, my question is this........

If evolution is false and nothing can just appear out of thin air, then who created god ?? i mean, God had to be created too, right?? He/She could not have just "poofed" and appeared, right??

And please, do not mistake my question for instigative or derogatory, I am asking a serious question because I, as a non-believer, am curious to know what you think. I truly do not intend to offend anyone. I have no problems with anyone who believes in God. I feel that it is each person's decision to choose to believe whatever you want to believe in. And I am ok with that.

Thank you, and I apologize if i offend anyone.

Don't apologize, things are always misinterpreted.

God always existed. It is hard enough for humans to understand what God wants humans to do, let alone try and comprehend God. After all, that is where we first started to get into trouble, by attempting to know as much as He does (wow, we are so arrogant!!).

But I'm not against science either. I've studied stars and galaxies before. I consider this......the Big Bang theory. What happened before that? What created that?

It seems like humans can't conclude on either.

We always think linear, and that there has to be a beginning and end. Otherwise we would lose our ability to measure things. But if you think about a simple line plotted on a graph, it has no beginning and no end either. Infinity, my friend.

You can think of God as self-existing. The universe obviously was created because of the Second Law of Thermodynamics which states that everything physical (IE: governed by the laws of physics) must fall apart and decay into nothing. God is not physical.

Maybe this cut & paste will help:

........................................
Who Made God?

...So a more sophisticated questioner might ask: ‘If the universe needs a cause, then why doesn’t God need a cause? And if God doesn’t need a cause, why should the universe need a cause?’ In reply, Christians should use the following reasoning:

Everything which has a beginning has a cause.
The universe has a beginning.
Therefore the universe has a cause.

...The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, as will be shown below. God, unlike the universe, had no beginning, so doesn’t need a cause. In addition, Einstein’s general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space.

Since God, by definition, is the creator of the whole universe, he is the creator of time. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created, so has no beginning in time — God is ‘the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity’ (Isaiah 57:15). Therefore He doesn’t have a cause.

In contrast, there is good evidence that the universe had a beginning. This can be shown from the Laws of Thermodynamics, the most fundamental laws of the physical sciences.

1st Law: The total amount of mass-energy in the universe is constant.

2nd Law: The amount of energy available for work is running out, or entropy is increasing to a maximum.

If the total amount of mass-energy is limited, and the amount of usable energy is decreasing, then the universe cannot have existed forever, otherwise it would already have exhausted all usable energy — the ‘heat death’ of the universe. For example, all radioactive atoms would have decayed, every part of the universe would be the same temperature, and no further work would be possible.

So the obvious corollary is that the universe began a finite time ago with a lot of usable energy, and is now running down.

Christian's that say it couldn't just "poof" and happen, really don't understand the 'exnihilo' nature of God. Which is to say, he did just "poof" and it was there. He brought it into existence by the spoken work. No wave of the stick or clap of the hand, just a spoken word and matter was created.
God has always been and always will be there. He lives outside of what we call time. If you go back to the beginning, He is there the same as He is there right now and will be trillions of years from now after time as we know it has long passed away. Yes, even time is a created thing. Just as the Sun, Moon and stars.
There are a lot of people out there that say they believe in God but really haven't taken the time to study his nature and word in conjunction with each other to know His Word is Truth.

Hello,

It seems you have encountered the endless social arguements between the religious creationists and the evolutionists, both sides are incorret

Biblical creationists make the same error as scientists and skeptics in assuming there was a 'roll of the dice' creator who created the whole universe in time and place and then withdrew elsewhere to live in 'heaven'.

Evolutionists also miss the whole point as well. Creation is ongoing and continuous due to the omnipressence of God. Evolution is merely the style of expression and unfolding of the ongoingness of Creation.

It is obvious that that which is the Infinite God does not 'start' and 'stop'. That which is beyond all dimension is not subject to limitation.

According to current science, the potential energy in one cubic centimeter of 'empty' space is greater that the mass of the entire universe. What has not yet been noted is that the potential energy is every cubic centimeter of space increases continuously at an infinite rate. ( The power of the unmanifest would be equal to or greater than that of themanifest )

The infinite glory, greatness, and power of God has been severely and grossly underestimated and not comprehended by man.

An allegorical approximation of reality would be to state that the entire duration of all time of infinity takes less than an instant. At this point, it becomes apparent that the one paradigm cannot be stretched to include another.

Hope that helps.

Peace & Truth,

You didn't offend me, I'm glad you asked this question because this is something the human mind just can not grasp, that God always was. He was created, or he didn't poof out of thin air. He just always was.

And on the subject of evolution, I'm not sure I believe it but then I think couldn't evolution have been in Gods plan? Couldn't he have created an ever evolving world? But things like this we will never know until we get there....its just theory.

Hoped I helped!

Very good question and I'm glad you are seeking to find the answer. The Truth is this - this earth had a beginning, God has no beginning and no end. God spoke and said "I am". These 2 words explain His existence. God is - the reason it was hard for me to understand this at first was this: Everything on Earth has a beginning and an End. Nothing that was here is the beginning (except the earth) is still here.

Loki, fair question (and a deep one).

The final answer would be that God is different enough from all other things that exist that part of what makes him unique is His eternality (timelessness).

Logically, I cannot imagine nothing creating something. I cannot imagine things moving unless they were acted upon by a force. Without matter or force, where did matter and force come from? The logical answer would be from an eternal God, Who is so powerful that He brought things into being out of nothing. Even without the Bible, I'd have to conclude something like this.

If God would have been so like everything that He created, then yes, someone would've had to bring Him into existence, but then He wouldn't be God.

Hope this makes sense. Answering deep questions quickly in the context is difficult.

You are asking a very good question. Who are what created God? Christians say that even if there were many gods who were created by a previous one, ultimately there would have to be a First One who created time, space, and the chain of causality itself.

The buck stops there, so to speak. Sorry to be simplistic; if indeed this is an infinitely old universe, then what purpose would there be for a god? No room for the Christian god, then...

Still, in a universe or multiverse infinitely large and old, surely there would be time for a God of infinite power and Being to evolve out of the universal chaos. After all, in a universe of infinite size and time, there are infinite possibilities. And so given infinite space time, an infinitely small probability of God being born or evolved becomes large.

Okay. I am a believer in Jesus, and I understand what you are asking. There is nothing wrong with asking questions. You do not need to apologize. Now, just because I am a Christian does not mean that I know the questions to these very complex questions. I often ponder these same things. I believe that trying to completely understand the complexity of God is like an ant trying to understand the complexity of a human being. God is infinite. I have no scientific proof, but I don't need it. Through an amazing transforming relationship with Jesus, God has granted me faith and comfort about the things I don't understand. In no way do I condone ignorance, but I think it is okay to just not know. God says, "seek, and you will find." If you are looking for answers about God, just try talking to Him and asking your questions. Good questions.

nicely worded...now you supposition that evolution means poof, is too generalized..i believe that dinosaurs romed the earth..the evidence is in the bones....i also believe the lord made the poof if that is the beginning point for the creation of life it self...this existance makes too much sense and is too logical to be random..why can't GOD himself be the so called missing link??
evolution does not have to be blindly assumed to mean that there is no god...it was his process of creating everything after it's own kind.. if you were ever present..you can take all the time you want....that dosen't discount the spiritual nature of it either..think about it if you questioned whether or not your mother had her egg fertilized and gave birth to you, does that discount the fact that you were born??
you don't believe in RELIGION..that sounds like your issue..
there is a difference between GOD and religion..even though MAN made religeion to worship GOD..
think deeper.....
