Don't we get some credit for sorting things out too then if we're "running it all"?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the Women's Institute that soldiered into Iraq and captured Sadam Hussein.

And that, despite all the rantings against tony blair, he's the one that sent a £7 million cheque to Pakistan to help with the aids crisis.

So, can you cut us men some slack for a while? :-)

There are always those events that you will remember exactly where you were, what you were doing, and what u first thought when it happened...

I was in my 11th grade class, actually watching the news as we had to do every morning. When the footage first caught in, i just thought it was a regular plane crash. When i found out what had happened, I live in Washingtin DC, so my first thought was, OMG, something really bigs going to happen here. My whole school thought something was gonna hit the white house or something.

So...Where were you? What did you first think about??

you realized you weren't invincible anymore?

I'm 32 and it was last summer in a doctor's office when I realized that even I could get sick. I'm fine - but it was the thought that really snapped me out of that 'I'm young so nothing will happen to me' attitude.

While I am aware that it reminds and to some extent represents a deeply troubled time for the US and it's citizens, it also represents a great love that the people of the southern states have for their heritage. Right or wrong..depending on who you speak with, I quite honestly feel it is a good thing to remember the past. It should be a basic right of all North Americans to wave our Countries flags first..i.e. National, then whatever state flag you feel is right and necessary for you. In my case, I have the Canadian Maple Leaf, the Union Jack (our British Colonial history), then my Provincial Flag (Saskatchewan) with it's symbol of the prairies - wheat. I wonder when the time will be that all people can simply accept our diversity and our need to express our love and pride in ourselves. Few people mean any disrespect, but rather a love of where they come from.

Every country in the world has had some evil in their history. A flag can, and should, remind us of overcoming it.

I think that at least 3 people should have to 'flag' you before a violation and deduction of points is given. As it is if someone doesn't agree with your views they flag you and you have no recourse. The guidelines don't help, even the most innocent remark can be taken to be contrary to the guidelines. Yes, there are some really obscene and offensive remarks which should be banned but how many people here have had violations for innocuous questions or answers just because a sad so and so has flagged them?

What part of ‘illegal’ do immigrants, or the rest of America for that matter, not understand? There is a legal way, and an illegal way to come into this country. You do it illegally, you get sent back…and you don’t think that’s fair?
Did you know that 28% of Mexico’s GDP is based on illegal immigrants here in the States sending untaxed money back to Mexico?
Did you know that 74% of all dept of hospitals in the SW are because of illegal immigrants using hospital emergency rooms? (guess who’s paying for that by the way? That’s right…YOUR tax dollars!)
Did you know that the restrictions on Americans immigrating to Mexico (yes, thousands do it every year!) is tougher than Mexicans moving here?
You may find it odd, but I love Mexico. Their culture and people are rich and their music is great. But why don't you fix your OWN government and stop weighing ours down?

I am a non smoker and always have been, but if I could take up smoking I definitly would as I have never noticed before how boring non smokers are. My friends and I prefer to go outside the pub with the smokers rather than listen to the inane conversations that are now going on inside the pubs we frequent. In fact it appears that most other people seem to as well. What have we done? we have killed a culture.
